pat battle is live at the scene where the plane was just removed. pat? >> reporter: sibilia, that plane was hauled out of here just about 15 minutes ago. it's been an all-day effort. investigators from the bergen county sheriff's office local detectives and the faa spent the better part of this day going over the wreckage with our proverbial fine-tooth comb. of particular interest, we are told by sources, two wires that appeared, and i emphasize appeared to have been cut to the plane's engine. we won't know the significance of that until the outcome of this investigation. fortunately, both pilots survived and as the plane was being hauled away, detectives were interviewing one of them at a local hospital. 24 hours almost to the minute that it went down. the single engine cessna sky hawk lifted on to a flatbed truck, which will tow it to a hangar in maryland for further inspection. meanwhile, the coast guard identified the two pilots who made this emergency landing as

. >> good afternoon, i'm erika von tiehl, our pat ciarrocchi is on special assignment. this morning, as we mention, pope francis addressed joint meeting of congress called on law makers to help the poor and for dialogue on arrange every issues from immigration, to the death penalty. cbs's weijia jiang with the latest from her his visit from washington. >> reporter: pope francis talk about many different issues including immigration, climate change, and the sanctity of marriage and family. he wove in american values and history through the entire speech drawing huge applause, and many standing ovations. pope francis received a standing ovation, as lawmakers welcomed him to the heart of the us government. he's the first pope to address a joint meeting of congress. >> his speech focused on topics familiar to these lawmakers including chime at change, religious extremism. >> delicate bond is required to combat violence, perpetrated in the name of our religion. >> on immigration, francis called for greater understanding of those who come to the u.s. looking for a bert life.

pat's has concluded. okay, so what's happening today? well, the open will leave washington right around 4:00 or so. he is expected to land at kennedy airport at about five, and then at 5:15 he will hop into a helicopter and chopper his way down to the downtown heliport right on the east river. and then he will, by motorcade, come uptown. and at some point someplace north of st. pat's, right around where we are, maybe four or five blocks north, he will exit his motorcade and get into one of those open-air popemobiles, and then he will make his way slowly south on fifth avenue as he is greeted by thousands of onlookers lining the avenue. he will make his way to st. pat's and be greeted by the governor and the mayor right at those bronze doors at st. patrick's can three drag, and then he will -- cathedral. yesterday cardinal timothy dolan had a message for the pontiff, and it was basically welcome to new york. >> as i told him in the beginning, i said i'm just so eager to show you this city that i love and this church that i cherish. so to
