pat collins, news4. >>> news4 is tracking some ferocious winds right now. temperatures plummeting and windchills soon in the teens. gusty winds proving to be dangerous. this was the scene in germantown earlier today. the wind knocked down a light pole that landed on a minivan and no one seriously hurt. and wind is driving a dramatic drop in our temperatures. how cold will we see it? >> temperatures up to 50 degrees earlier, now, it feels close to 20 and 30 degrees colder already just getting started with that dramatic drop. gusts upwards of 40 miles an hour some locations a little higher than that. wind gusts reported 38 towards manassas and and wind gusts at baltimore and the river. and that includes the entire region as we will see winds gusting up to 50 miles an hour and with that we could see tree branches and a few thousand people without power in our region too. windchills dropping. here we are at 5 o'clock. notice the 20s, teens and single digit. watch what happens by 7:00 teens move into the i-95 corridor. by 9:00 single digits into the metro region
