fox5's paul wagner has the story. ul. >> reporter: tony, on tuesday night we told you there had been significant delays in sending additional firefighters and equipment to major fires in the city in the last two week. at one scene it was 10 minutes and then the other it was six. the office of unified communications otherwise known as the 911 center admitted there had been mistakes. now we've learned of another lengthy delay in getting help to a fire in the trinidad section of northeast. just before 11 o'clock wednesday morning a fire broke out in a row house in the 1100 block of staple street northeast and when firefighters pulled up out front they reported seeing smoke coming from the home. within seconds the on scene commander asks for what's called a working fire dispatch a request that turns into several minutes of confusion at listen at some of the radio traffic between the on scene manager and the commander. >> are you saying you put. . >> reporter: but as the firefighters union points out, it's routine and essen

paul wagner, fox5 local news. >> we have a followup now in that deadly police-involved shooting in frederick county. tonight investigators have identified the two howard county police officers involved. they were corporal thomas town son and officer dar shan lucky. the man killed was 26 year old cody mitchell. police say he was driving a van suspected in a burglary. the pursuit crossed from howard into frederick county when officers tried to stop the vehicle, mitchell tried to run over one of them. that's when police opened fire and killed him. a passenger in the van, 26 year old shai and was un harmed but taken into custody. she now faces burglary and theft charges. despite years and years the fbi is staying put down in downtown the district, maryland and virginia worked for years to lure the fbi to movement accord rg to the administration, the decision to scrap the move comes in part because congress wasn't going to provide the needed money to help fund the project. area leaders are disappointed. it's very disappointing and frustrating i got to say. it's kind of typical of wash washington

"fox5" paul wagner reports. >>> this is a photo of ronald wells taken in 2014 when teaching science at lackey high school featured in a newsletter by charles county schools. according to the documents filed in court, a 17-year-old student told police on his birthday in april of last year he went looking for a cake another student put under his the disk in science class. but when he could not find it, his teacher, ronald wells, said the cake was in the supply closet. once inside the closet the student says wells asked to see his again tallies. and the student left. and the court documents filed in the case says the defendant is adult teacher at lackey high school and during the time of this incident the defendant has due care and custody of the victim due to him being a teacher and victim being a student. the indictment filed in the case indicates there's a second victim. wells has b administrative leave more than a year and his trial is scheduled to start july 18, numerous attempts to reach wells and attorney were unsuccessful. the case against wells only dime light aft schaffer office

paul wagner, fox5 local news >> a crash between a pickup truck and csx train in prince george's county left one man dead this morning. it happened just about 4:00 a.m. along the 11th block in belts ville. the driver of the truck died at the scene much it's unclear what caused the collision. the road was shutdown for hours while police investigated the crash. and today's crash comes nearly one week after a deadly collision near union station. in that crash, two csx workers were hit and killed near the tracks near new york avenue northeast. the workers had stepped off the train to fix a problem with the wheel and for reasons unknown they crossed the tracks and that's when they were struck and we want to take you outside because we are counting down on the big fireworks show on the national mall. here's a look the at the mall. people are gathering, sitting on the grass, on the blankets, getting their positions all ready for tonight's fourth of july fireworks. stick around. we're going to be talking about forecast when we come. of the that the building new me up zoo insure wanton d.c. stan

paul wagner reports. >> this is a photo of ronald wells taken in 2014 when te teaching science at lackey high school. it was featured in a newsletter districted by charles documenty schools. according to the documents filed in court, a 17-year-old student told police on his birthday in april of last year, he went looking for a cake another student put under his desk in science class. when he could not find it his teach, ronald wells, said the cake was in the supply closet. and once inside the closet the student says wells asked to see his genitals and the student left and the court document filed in the case says the defendant is adult teacher at lackey high school. during the time of this incident, you care and custody of the victim due to him being a teacher and the victim being a student. the indictment filed in the case indicates there's a second victim. wells has been on paid administrative leave more than a year and his trial is set to begin the 18th. numerous attempts to contact him or his attorney were unsuccessful. the sheriff office filed sexual assault charges against a former
