pelosi: the morning, everyone. earlier this week, i had the sad privilege to meet with some of the inspiring student from marjorie stone high school. as you know, they had been in washington, d.c., speaking to students their own ages and that high school. they were conveying their determination to members of congress. it was interesting to hear how determined they are to make change and understand that some of it will have to unfold. but they want meaningful change. we have all been moved by their heartbreaking eloquence. they are insisting on action to prevent gun violence. the american people overwhelmingly agree with them. 97% support requiring background checks for all gun buys. including almost the same percentage among gun owners. is common sense bipartisan paths forward. we were encouraged by what president trump had to say. i join with mike thompson to put out a statement last night. force to of our task prevent gun violence. murphy, close to pulse in the orlando area. deutch. we heard the president say and

but he also ran away from nancy pelosi. how do you deal with that moving forward, some candidates may say, run from nancy pelosi and you've got a better chance of winning. >> conor lamb did an incredible job of touting his record of service to both the country, as a veteran, and community as a federal prosecutor. that took him out of the partisan frame. it had less to do with exactly what issues he talked about and more about his record of service that is so appealing to democrats, independence indepe, especially when you compare that with rick saccone who, despite millions, over $10 million in super pac money -- >> ed: but both parties spent a lot of money like any race. money is spent by both sides. the nrcc is saying this is too close to call, as is the associated press. they gave you one more chance on that point. how confident are you on that point when even the associated press, nonpartisan news organization, is saying it's too close to call. >> like i said, we take these things seriously. we would not have declared t
