it would have run up the peninsula to san francisco. marla tellez joins us live with more on what is next. >> reporter: good morning, jon. this has been an ongoing court battle for three years now, and so it continues. now the bullet train would have shared tracks with cal train, that's why we are here where we are this morning. this is the cal train station in san ho. yesterday a judge ruled officials failed sho show how it will affect traffic and homes. the plan was to have them run from gilroy to san jose, up the peninsula and into san francisco at a cost of $99 billion to california taxpayers. the city said they didn't want the elevated tracks to divide their communities. they also showed concern it would be an eyesore and lower property values. yesterday's ruling says the california high speed rail authority must study how traffic would be impacted in the south bay since some places are heavy traveled would potentially have to be eliminated. the judge ruled the peninsula route has to be scrapped all together. despite that, official
