the agriculture secretary, sonny perdue. business insider writes that the trump administration rolled out a second round of aid for farmers who have been stung by its year-long trade war with china, bringing the price tag of bailout efforts so far to about $28 billion. they write $14.5 billion of the current aid, the new aid would be direct payments made to farmers through the subsidy program. the department of agriculture said. while another billion and a half set aside for commodity purchases and marketing efforts and "business insider" said the package mirrored a $12 billion aid package announced last year. it's set to be made official this afternoon by the president. that should get under way shortly here at the white house. we also know the president agreed to the disaster aid package with congress. $19 billion disaster relief. the bill should be passed by the senate in the chamber this afternoon. that's over on c-span2. and the house in tomorrow morning for a pro forma session. so we will likely see it taken up by unan
