pete, emerald morrow, 10news, wtsp. funeral arrangements have not yet been released for the hillsborough county deputy who was killed in a wrong- way crash. investigators say erik mcbeth drove his suv the wrong way onto the selmon expressway. he then crashed -- head on -- into the 30 year old deputy john kotfila, early saturday morning. both were killed. flags remain lowered at the sheriff's fallen heroes memorial in ybor city to honor deputy kotfila. in maryland, many are mourning the death of an officer killed in the line of duty. police say officers were working at the police station on sunday when a man started firing his gun a them. after he shot the first officer, officers started shooting back. an undercover narcotics officer was killed and the suspect was hurt. police are calling this situation a quote, "unprovoked attack." the fallen officer is a four-year veteran. he was about to several people are hurt after a train derailment in kansas overnight. it happened about 20 miles west of dodge city. five cars repor

pete. investigators believe the stolen car was speeding when it crashed into an undercover police truck carrying two officers that were part of the auto theft task force. news channel 8's josh thomas joins us now live from the scene. josh, what are detectives saying about the crash and injuries? >> reporter: well, right now, as you can see be behind me here, crime scene investigators are still on the scene. you can see the vehicle involved in the crash. the officer, one from tampa and one from st. petersburg were out looking for stolen cars as part of the auto theft task force. they were tracking down -- actually traveling down central avenue when they were t-boned at 54th street north. as it turns out, the car that hit them had been stolen but they were not actually looking for that vehicle. there were six people in the vehicle, four females and two males ages 15 to 25 years old. >> there is no ring. and you just got a bunch of kids that think it's a cool thing to do. so everybody thinks,

pete, emerald morrow, 10news, wtsp. the kalamazoo uber driver accused in a deadly shooting says the ridesharing app made him do it. during interviews with police, jason app took over his mind and body. he claims the iphone app told him where to go and when to shoot people. dalton has been charged with killing six people and hurting two others. the brother of was shot and killed will be in court this morning. scheduled to be police say schooler killed reverend william schooler last month in a church office at the end of sunday services. police say more than 20 people were inside the church at the time. records show schooler has a history of mental illness. eight firefighters are recovering this of a townhouse collapsed during a search and rescue. the montgomery county firefighters in maryland were fighting this blaze worried that one homeowner was still inside. while searching for that person, part of the structure fell, trapping them. thankfully, all firefighters got out. all the homeowners made it out okay as well. cle
