as pete said, 95 arrests so far. having police officers injured, having property damage today will cast some sort of shadow, will set some sort of tone in terms of the policing and in terms of the turnout for subsequent protests. and that is -- that's just a fact of how these things go. so, the police will be on a different footing because of what's happening today than they would have otherwise been toward what are expected to be very, very, very large protests in the next 24 hours. >> and i know a lot of people are going to be in that protest tomorrow and they're regular, they're not people like the people here with the masks on, i can tell you. they're not out for trouble. i am impressed by the defensive phalinx of the police. they're not chasing after them in an aggressive way. they are holding a line here. obviously, they've been told that that's the position they should be taking. a restrained -- very restrained -- at least what we've seen, position by the police here. they don't want to have any more violence

good morning, pete >> reporter: good morning to you, scott. here in guerneville, they're having those flooding issues in these low-lying areas. i want to show you, it's up to my knees here in this water as they deal with this ongoing issue off of highway 116. now, we do know the russian river levels are currently at about 32 feet. we're expecting it to crest at about 38 feet. that's where you'd have the most significant flooding concerns in this area. now, i did speak to a man who rented a nearby rv park to kind of give me a perspective on exactly what we can expect, if it does crest. right now he's saying it's at about 4 to 5 feet on this road alone. if it does hit that 38 feet, he's saying we could hit about 10 feet on this road, later on today. here he is, giving us a really good perspective on what to expect or possibly expect later on today. >> come down and check, see how high it's getting, see if i'm going to get flooded in, see if i can leave town or not. probably will be. so looks like i won't going to work tomorrow. >> kind of keeps

our justice correspondent, pete williams, with the latest details just coming in. pete? >> jose federal prosecutors offered new details about the shooting in court documents which have just been filed late this evening. santiago is charged with committing an act of violence at an international airport. that's a crime that [000:07:58;00] penalty if he's convicted. investigators say he fired ten to 15 rounds of ammunition from his handgun shooting all the rounds in one magazine or ammunition clip, then reloading and emptying the second. they say at one point he left the baggage area, then went back in still carrying the gun. he told the fbi after the shooting that he planned the attack buying a one-way ticket from anchorage and checked his gun and the two ammunition magazines he used in the shooting. he'll appear in court to face these charges, jose. >> pete williams, thank you. let's turn now to the other big story we're covering. severe weather in much of the country tonight. consider this. our meteorologists tell us that 47 of the 48 continental states have snow cover.
