maria: lee, we want to talk about the tax bill, you were no on the house's tax bill obviously they passed it regardless but you and your colleague congressman peter state and local tax deduction being eliminated is going to send your constituents taxes higher, correct? >> yes, ma'am. and i was -- there were 13 of us who voted no, some of us might have voted no for different reasons, there were some people who voted yes who were voting yes with the understanding that certain aspects of this bill were going to be improved, i would love to be able to vote for a final bill coming out of conference committee but we have to to make more progress and i have middle-income constituents struggling to make ends meet. half of my district itemizes and a district in 39.6% bracket and with pass-through rules maybe for some of them largest itemization will be state and local taxes, mortgage interest deduction going to a half million, losing the medical expense deduction, when you crunch all of the numbers, you have some people in the 39.6 bracket who are going to be paying more as well. so for me as a new york congressman representing a new york congressional di
