we've seen some changes in pg & e rates. it's one of the many times that pg & e changed it's rates. this year it was a little more interesting in that we saw a decrease in the degeneration of component and decrease in the exit charge, the pcia and different cost and applies to community choice aggregation for customers. on net for us, that means the ceiling rate that we have been charging our program at. that ceiling rate has come down by 10%. squeezing the margins a little bit but it's important for us as we develop the program to be vigilant on what the competitive rate is. we are just reporting out to you on what we see and the changes. those changes will go into effect under the c puc schedule in january. pg & e is also moving forward with their green tariff option with the california puc staff have made a recommendation to the commission to approve pg & e's request with some modifications. we are happy to see some of the modifications they are very responsive at the position of the c puc to make sure consumers can compare the program, c puc, options on an even footing so consum

pg&e estimate tg could take another ten hours for the work. you can see crews are working to take away the old power pole and replace it with a new one after this truck crashed into it after midnight shutting down the southbound 880/238 connect err and washington avenue off ramp. it could be until late afternoon. crews are working right now to try and get this all resolved. this is after a chevy pickup carrying two adults and four kids crashed into the poles. thankfully into serious injuries, one boy taken to the hospital for precautionary measures but the crash brought down the wires so low that pg&e said at one point trucks were passing inches from snagging them and potentially causing more problems for drivers here. >> they were very low. they were de-energized at the time but the problem is because the pole is no longer on the ground and stable if they would have caught the wires it would have brought everything down dropping two sets of wires, six weirs down on to the freeway. >> reporter: now, there is a small possibility they may close

pg and e crews working to restore power. we had a flare-up today. there was a flare-up near bus canyon road, about 20 miles southeast of here. that's because of gusty winds. we have cooler conditions and hopefully rain on the way tomorrow which will help the situation. i want to bring you the latest numbers about the valley fire. it's burned 67,000 acres since saturday. it's only 15% contained and 585 homes destroyed. there is one fatality, a 72-year-old retired school teacher who was not able to escape her home. as for the investigation, cal fire tells nbc news that investigators have been in the area of town, specifically high valley road and bottle rock road. that's ten miles northwest of middletown. evidence is being collected there and it will be a long process. at this point it's way too early to speculate on the cause of this fire or the exact location of where it started. they do say they believe it started in the town of cobb. also, we want to show you dramatic new footage that emerged from sacramento firefighters as they work to save a hou
