pg&e turned off the gas at one this morning. so these residents and nearby businesses are dealing with that this morning. about 200 pg&e representatives are coming to the neighborhood in the next hour to go door to door to customers to help them. now, we asked when service would be restored, but here's what a spokeswoman told us. >> it's a little hard to say with gas because customers have to be home in order for service to be turned back on. if they are not home, we are going to try again and they are always more than welcome to call us directly. we are also going to have folks on hand here that are going to be talking to our customers and giving them updates and answering questions. >> reporter: the sinkhole hasn't been repaired yet. right now pg&e has the lead on this, and that's why this intersection is closed right now. once the line is fixed, repairs will be done to that sinkhole. we haven't been given a time when that will all happen. just asking customers to be patient. and its a possibility that some businesses may not

pg and e crews restoring gas service. 90% of the outages have been restored and 38 technicians available all night to help people turn the gas back on inside the homes. a 9-year-old girl named carly was so happy to get gas service back on in her house that she made that little thank you sign for pg&e. >> i made a sign for pg&e because they helped make the gas go back on in my house and people's houses. >> pretty cute. elsewhere in moraga. the city is working with homeowners impacted by a mudslide. two people were forced to leave their homes after the ground shift near the moraga country club. one of the homes slid down the hill. owned by east bay mud. the agency should have done more to prevent the ground from moving some say. >>> plenty of sunshine around today. let's go back to bill in the weather service for a look at the forecast. >> it will be another nice day tomorrow. warmer than today by a good five degrees. so that puts us in the 70s. mid-70s by thursday in some spots. we go outside live and the shots here a sunset. this is a sea haze in which you get when you see this area here

. >>> pg&e crews working in rogge -- moraga to repair a gas line. a traffic light pole suddenly dropped 7 feet a few hours later, piercing the gas pipe, and 450 people were evacuated from the shopping center, and 100 people were asked to shelter in place. the shelter in place order has been lifted, 2500 people are still without gas service right now. >>> also in moraga, a landslide forced people out of their homes after landowner noticed erosion a couple of months ago. but last week's home was impacted as the railing on the deck begin to slide, and the recent rain made the problem even worse. >> the lower foundation of my house is now about 15 feet below the frame of the house, and the two thirds that is still in place for now, and sort of hanging above the foundation where the earth is dropping. >> the east bay municipal utility district owns the land that is sliding, and the people that live in the area say that they knew about the problem but only sent engineers yesterday. but they say there was nothing they could do to prevent the landslide, and

reporter: pg sittenfeld will be watching for his fate right here at the fire musuem of cincinnati. but he' s been busy all day working to get votes. today at a polling place in clifton a little bit ago. the us democratic senate candidate has been going to different polling locations today . he' s meeting as many people as he can before the polls close. sittenfeld is running against former governor ted strickland on the democratic side. on the republican side senator rob portman is up against don eckhart. the cincinnati councilman has been trying to boost his visibility among ohio democrats. he tells me he is excited, and has made his campaign about issues affecting the future of americans. >> i think there' s a big hunger in ohio, and across the country for new leaders stepping up who are going to offer up bold proposals to fix real problems we have, having an economy that works for everybody, making college more affordable,

and we're being kept back because pg&e still hasn't capped off that gas line. they've been out here working on it for hours. every now and then you hear the jackhammer. they're doing quite a bit of digging. this started with a sinkhole that got bigger and bigger today, and there was a gas line that ran through it. shops along the shopping center the first to be evacuated. customer andrew helped customers get out quickly, i had to evacuate them. their safety comes first. >> reporter: the store closed early. chris labelle was trying to buy gas for his car when he saw firemen and police. >> they turned us around. we can't have anyone going over there there is a gas leak. >> reporter: earlier this afternoon a sinkhole formed at center street in moraga. by 5:00 p.m., a traffic pole gave way and dropped into the hole where pg&e runs a 4-inch distribution line. >> i was not here but heard it on the radio and heard the sound of the gas in the background while the officer was transmitting it. so what we did, we already had the immediate area cordoned off. and the office
