commissioner phillips: oh yeah. the short way to think about it is the scammers follow the headlines. whatever the public is thinking about if it is health-related or money-related, scammers are going to be there. i haven't seen the latest numbers today, but i think hundreds of thousands of complaints of at least tens of millions of dollars lost. it is really terrible stuff. have beens side, we sending a lot of letters out, and mostly the letters get the bad claims taken down quickly. occasionally they don't, so we had to go to court to try to stop people. we are working with partners at the ftc, doj, states attorneys general. this is a real issue. when people are feeling vulnerable because of their health or because of their poor financial situation, there are going to be predators out there. it's a major focus for us. it's our principal focus or what i think ought to be our principal focus, and it is something consumers need to be aware. host: noah phillips is one of three republican commissioners on the federal t
