cynthia pimentel joins me now. cynthia, you have been monitoring the weather conditions for us. how hot are we expecting things to get? >> audrey, it's going to get very, very hot, uncomfortable, and possibly even dangerous in some spots. so let's get right to the details in our microclimate forecast. because we have a couple of days to watch out for in the bay area. we've been upgraded to an excessive heat warning a couple of hours ago. so all the areas and cities that you see here in pink. this will go into effect friday morning, lasting all the way through sunday night. some of our inland valleys could see those temperatures get into the triple-digit mark, if not possibly a little higher. so maybe right now i know we're getting closer to thursday. it could be the time to start switching some of those outdoor plans that you have for the weekend. but before we get there, what's happening out there right now, san francisco, the marine layer keeping the city cool at 61 degrees. but look as we make our way into the tri-valley. already seeing those hazy skies, and temperatures near

cinthia pimentel joins with us a look at the forecast. >> good morning.tioning we're getting in the studio. it's chilly in here, but outside, beautiful sunshine greeting us. mild start in the 60s but we see the cloud cover hang on at the coast. we'll be 70 degrees by the time we hit the lunchtime hour. a mild start in the south bay, near 70 degrees right now. and we'll start to warm up as we approach the lunchtime hour. starting to get into that 90-degree territory. in richmond, another spot we'll see, the clouds hang out around the coastline, giving us that cooldown that we all need after yesterday's scorcher. yes, we still remain under the heat advisory here in the bay area, the areas that you see shaded in orange. we're going to see those temperatures still in the 80s, 90s. as we go further into the central valley, some places the il in the 100 mark. make sure you're staying hydrated. another day with the sun screen and sunglasses. and we see the on shore wind returning, driving up the winds and hot temperatures and the fuels drying out. so something t

let's turn to cinthia pimentel.le have been counting this down for months and crossing their fingers that the weather is going to cooperate. >> i think the tickets went on sale last summer. it's been a long time coming and i think once swifties leave stadium tonight they'll say it was a fairytale. let's see what's going on. the concert kicks off at 6:30. temperatures will be mild. if you are from the bay area you know how the night goes on. it turns a little chilly as you go through the evening hours and the wind might pick up. make sure you bring a jacket to cover up after you show off your beautiful costumes. otherwise, we'll be in for a comfortable start to the weekend. >>> let's go outside to the roads. a crash right here in the south bay? >> not far from where you're talking about for concertgoers. northbound 101, this continues with the crash blocking one lane, an overturned vehicle at northbound 101 and mckee. it sounds like another vehicle fled the scene. that's the other hit-and-run part of the crash that c

cinthia pimentel joins us with a quick look at the microclimate forecast. >> the heat will definitelyontinue to build today for our inland valleys. good morning to you in livermore. a live look over into the east bay we're seeing the high clouds and hazy at times and already 69 degrees at 7:30 this morning. could reach those triple digit temperatures once again as we go on into the afternoon. plenty of sunshine as well as the high clouds down here in the south bay too at 65 degrees. the winds still staying pretty calm and i don't think anybody could make any records today. we're a few degrees in livermore and where we'll watch that 1935 record of 108 and santa rosa also a few degrees away from that same year at 99 degrees. but san francisco and oakland do have a little bit of ways to go to beating any records and another place we're keeping an eye on four records that has just gained worldwide attention is the furnace creek location in death valley. could reach 128 battling that high of 134 a couple of years ago in 1913. definitely watch out for that as the afternoon goes on and a loo
