a man is dead following a single car crash in pittsylvania county. it happened around 10:30 saturday night on route 40. the car crossed the center line ... ran off the road ... lost control and overturned. the driver 19 year old cameron long died at the scene. police say alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash. the crash remains under investigation. a storage building in danville is a total loss after it was destroyed in an early morning fire. it happened at 135 ruben court lot 30 around 4:30 this morning. it took crews less than 30 minutes to put out the flames. firefighters say the fire started from an extension cord. fortunately no one was hurt. a police officer in richmond. it happened around 12:15 this morning. richmond police say 23 year old keith smith junior is charged with aggravated assault on an officer ... and possesion of a firearm among other charges. the officer was shot in the leg. he's expected to make a full recovery. the officer's name has not been released at this time. the iowa caucuses bring in more than media and candid
