was a time when i worked full-time at the capitol and i had a park place right there on the plaza between the east front and the supreme court. all the reporters did. and that all changed after 9/11. of course, the way access has been restricted to the people's house which is the way all of us whoever worked on the hill heard democratic and republican members, senators, speakers speak about the capitol. it is a beloved institution with such a great history and to see this now, a loss of life, only leads to more involvement by the national guard perhaps, more fencing. so these are all issues that i think about now and think about how congress will react. incredibly to me after january 6th, we still saw resistance from some of those who were besieged that day, some of those denying the reality and led by the former president donald trump and it was an insurrection and there was a life and death at stake and some people did die as a result of it. others were permanently injured. so for people to deny that reality and now this incident may have nothing to do with any organized assault but it does add

plaza. it's a slow and go ride out of the east bay as you head into the city.f a trouble spot near the metering lights. that may slow things down. no word on if it is blocking any lanes. east shore freeway ride is starting to get busy, few brake lights off of west bound 80. altamont pass, travel time is 44 minutes. that's how long it will take you to go from 205 to 680 if trying to connect to the dublin interchange. we are seeing speeds down to about nine miles per hour in some spots. also fire crews are on scene of a fire on the right shoulder on 85 north bound near camden avenue. i am tracking a few brake lights in that area. very as you head through there. the rest of 85 is moving at the limit. north bound 101 is slow out of morgan hill, san martin area. that's pretty typical this time of the morning. taking a look elsewhere, still busy west bound 37, 31 minutes from 80 towards 101. other than that we've got usual stuff now which is one of our traffic patterns on highway 4 west bound through bay point 34 minutes from antioch to the east shore. bart extending

they tell me that there was actually a pedestrian on the ridge near the westbound side just east of the toll plaza. so again, the meter lights went on, they were able to get that pedestrian in an ambulance actually no reported that person was hit or that person was just walking on the bridge. but now we're seeing major delays as a result of that incident about 29 minutes or so to that fremont street exit, that person is no longer on the bridge. so maybe this will improve or we might see conditions on the rich. stay that way for the rest of the morning. let's look at the other bridges, though the san mateo bridge heading across towards the peninsula under 40 minutes for your drive time there. a look at the richmond sandra fell commute out of richmond under 8 minutes and things of great here in the south bay along one. oh, one and 2, 80 just at 27 minutes. so we'll have more on that coming up next. but for now, james, back to you. all right, randi, thank it's 6.17. >> it was murder. that is what the minneapolis police chief said about george floyd's death. it was on the stand that the chief testifie
