mid 70s today from walnut creek to pleasanton, oakland 67 degrees. here comes the timeline. late tomorrow light rain begins to increase on the hilltop as lift and more moisture approach the bay area. the main event puts the first storm right there, 7:00 a.m. friday morning commute looks windy and soggy across the bay area. transitions to scattered showers as we move into the afternoon. first storm, impressive rainfall totals in the north bay specifically. nu san jose kind of missing out on the rain. we'll see the rain in the santa cruz mountains, east bay hills over to san francisco with gusty winds at times. you can see the bold and heaviest rain for the areas north of santa rosa, up to three inches around mendocino county. getting a tropical boost both from the jet stream and remnants from the typhoon in the western pacific. it is that system that will get absorbed into the westerlies and sent our way toward the coastline into sunday, not as a typhoon, but it will add more available moisture to the next storm that comes in on saturday. that will bring more wind and rain. t
