search crews are combing the potomac for a possible missing duck hunter.natural resources police found a boat near fort washington, but no boater. sam sweeney is that the search site with what investigators say is so strange about this case. the sam: good afternoon. the search continues here on the potomac for that possible missing boater. multiple agencies are out on the water. each of these is treating this as an emergency. take a look at your screen. yesterday a boat loaded with hunting gear was found on the side of the river with no one on board. nearby, a life jacket was floating in the water. say officials are searching for a possible missing boater is because there are no reports of any missing persons. all marinas and hunting clubs around this area say their people are accounted for. also the items inside the boat would normally be removed if the person were docking the boat for an extended. period of time. right now the best case scenario and boater beached his boat then left with a friend or family member in another boat. 48 and 50 is between deg

we are live in north potomac, i'm kevin lewis, abc7 news. leon: virginia state police are reporting a dip in the number of traffic fatalities over the christmas weekend. five people died on the roads statewide. two of the deaths were in crashes involving alcohol. the same weekend last year saw eight fatalities and the year before 13 people died. kellye: a 13-year-old is fighting for her life after the a.t.v. she was riding on crashed into an s.u.v. on walkerville road in capital heights. the driver of the a.t.v. was killed. police are investigating, but people who live in area say a.t.v.'s driving on the roads is a big problem and getting worse.
