thank you. >> thank you supervisor preston. supervisor dorsey. >> thank you president walton and thank you colleagues. and i always want to respect that we can have philosophical differences and reasonable minds can disagree but i do think it's important given we in had body before i was here did take steps to increase penalties and to the extent it's not working we should be doing more. one of the things that we saw a couple of years ago when there was an incident in which 10 drivers were cited by the san francisco police department. all of the perpetrators of this activity were from out of town and i think more concerning all were between ages 18 and 23. they're young inexperienced drivers who are engaging in very dangerous activity. we have seen injuries and apparent injuries in san francisco and within the bay area some people have lost their lives. this isn't the only strategy and i look forward working with my colleagues on creative approaches to take but i think this is an important step to take to ask the legislature to
