raleigh is down to 38 degrees. so that cold air behind this big nor'easter driven far to the south. locally we've got 37 in leesburg and gaithersburg. sterling over at dulles airport 39 degrees. down to the south springfield is 40 along with columbia. college park is one of the warm spots at 45. in washington as we look outside on our michael & son weather camera, good visibility. you'll notice the clouds at the capital standing stiff. got a decent breeze going on out there now. winds southwest at 8 under mostly cloudy skies. the barometer is going to be coming up at 29.54. if you're sensitive to the pressure changes, this could be a painful day. watching the storm system spinning right here over western new york. the other feature we're going to watch, a nice piece of energy coming out of wisconsin here. see it on the back side? this is going to follow down and around and likely we're going to see a little bit of that late tonight or late this evening i should say into the nighttime hours. we'll see the clouds increase up north, especially late this afternoon and this evening. here

raleigh is holding onto 71 but pittsburgh 52, but the wind direction changes tomorrow. it's going to be out of the northeast. we may only be talking about upper 50s for some of you. 62 in the district, so don't let it take you by surprise and say whoa, it's so much colder. you know it's going to be colder, look at these numbers and a couple showers around to boot. best chance of showers appears as though it will be south of d.c. the east coast desperately needs rain and wednesday through thursday at least some rain is possible. now our futurecast here maybe overpredicting. i'm not sure we get 1/2-inch out of it. i think it will be more like .1 or .2-inch, maybe a couple spots to our south picking up that 1/2-inch. i know you're rooting for that down in the lower delmarva as well. satellite and radar, clouds are coming in tonight. here are some initial showers working closer to harrisonburg, a lot of dry area to overcome. we do think it will overcome some of that and a little lightning down through southwestern virginia into central virginia, at least south side seeing t
