robert mauck :i fell through the second floor, through the first floor, and ended up hanging upside down from the basement ceiling. randy spence: hearing it, for me, when i heard it it was very sickening feeling, because you know what's going on and you know the potential while the potential was there, fireffighter robert mauck walked away without serious injury. my mind never really had time to think. i on just the training that we're given and the training truly paid off in this instance. mauck says he knew exactly what to do. first, check his air pack and mask then activate his emergency device but he couldn't reach it. so next, he got on his radio. i've fallen through the floor, i'm in the basement, i'm okay i could not see any fire, i didn't feel any fire coming down on me and i decided the best thing for me to do at that point was to get my own self out minutes later the rapid intervention crew came to his rescue. mauck says he got out alive, because of training. by no means do i know everything, i have a firm belief that the day that i stop training should be the last day that i'm on the job, because i'm going to
