and i want to ask you first about this ad that we are now finally seeing from raphael warnock. because he has, for so long now, stayed out of all of these abortion allegations that are swirling around his opponent, herschel walker. of course it all started with the daily beast report saying that he had paid for an abortion of a former girlfriend. he denies that of course. what do you make of warnock now wading into this? >> i'm surprised that he's dropping it now. i would have expected this would have been a commercial he would have dropped instantaneously when the greeting card, check and receipt came to light. maybe he has polling data that suggests it does move the needle but up until now it doesn't seem to have been the thunder clap that one would have imagined. i think the only way this issue really resonates in the end is if the woman steps forward, we see her, and she tells her story. people are so entrenched with the polarization in this country, these elections are so much more about the opponent than the candidate you're voting for. meaning it's a vote against raphael

but i guess we should not necessarily expect raphael warnock to take the first shot in terms of the personal stuff. >> it's interesting, on policy tonight, i think that we will hear warnock spend a lot of time talking about the legislation that he has supported and worked on in washington, d.c., legislation that specifically impacts people here in georgia. i am confident that he will bring up the infrastructure bill and the fact that he was part of the group spearheading and encouraging the federal government to send $8 million that went here to savannah, the port of savannah, to try to deal with infrastructure and supply chain issues. here on the campaign trail i have never once hear him get into some sort of a detail about the personal controversies that surround his opponent. i expect tonight that we're going to hear him mostly try to focus on the work that he has and continues to do in washington, d.c. on the policy front, for walker's campaign, and having spoken with sources close to the campaign, he's probably going to talk a lot about the economy and inflation, and he does that a lot

raphael warnock has often made very thinly veiled criticisms of herschel walker. advertisements, he's usually kind of pulled a lot of his punches. but now, as close to this election, we are seeing the senator really make a pretty, full-throated criticism of his republican opponent. >> it was striking to me, as well, from the reviewing the transcript of that debate, as i did, that it was more, he was more on the offensive about herschel walker. he hasn't, it seems, not doing that. he has a very high favorable waiting, isn't as a race is tight in georgia, it seems he doesn't want to forfeit that. there's also the lingering story, and i think it's important to get back to, which is about the abortion he is accused of paying for. that he tried to get a woman who had gotten pregnant twice have two abortions, she only had one. i wanted to spray this exchange with kristen welker, which an important piece of news, he confirms that check which this woman is presented to other reporters is legitimate, is from him, here's what he had to say. >> do you recall sending her that
