when she didn't show up that afternoon, her sister called her mom and said, hey, rebecca's not home. wellbecca came home like clockwork every afternoon from school. so immediately, rebecca's mother ran home. they started going through her friends and couldn't find her, and notified the sheriff's office. ultimately, at 2:30 the next morning, one of our sergeants and one of our detectives found rebecca lying at the bottom of an abandoned cement plant, at the bottom of one of the silos, deceased, where she had obviously jumped from above. >> as you conducted your investigation into her death, what did you learn about the two who you arrested? >> as the investigation went on, we determined that our victim, rebecca, was bullied. the bullying started november before this event in september. so as a result, our detectives started talking to witnesses. we started gathering information. we found out that rebecca was a very fragile child, and that at the end of the day, the bullying by these two primary suspects, one 14 and one 12 were kind of like the final straw. when we found her, she was deceas

rebecca, she was absolutely terrorized. those were your words. what happened to her? what was done to her? >> well, this was over a period of time, heather. it started about november of last year when there was a fallout over boyfriends. and the 14-year-old started bullying rebecca and she also convinced the 12-year-old, who was rebecca's best friend to bully her as well. even to fight her at school. that resulted in a suspension. there were efforts made to calm down the situation and it just went on and on and ended up on the internet in the cyber world and ultimately rebecca, who was very fragile, saw these words, took them to heart and this tomorrow meanting that she endured forever and ever and ever, caused her to send a post to a friend of hers saying, i can't take it anymore. i'm jumping. that is exactly what she did. heather: these social media posts said things like drink bleach and die. go kill yourself. wait a minute, why are you still alive? but initially you were not going to charge the parents until you saw this, and you mentioned it earlier, and we can pull this up. this was a facebo

well, i did go too far that day. >> reporter: miss found the video on line while investigating the suicide of rebecca sedwick. last month she jumped off a tower at this cement factory after being cyber bullied for a year. two students were charged in the case and one was the stepdaughter from fazberg. >> the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. >> reporter: fazberg doesn't allow her children to bully, she said and monitors their social media but police found this video on one of her kids' facebook page. . >> the video is hard to watch much the sheriff says the children beaten in the video are okay. they're under the supervision of florida's department of children and families. >>> switching gears now, mothers and daughters join together for a great event. it's the annual blink pink event in baltimore. it's a special day of pampering for women diagnosed with breast cancer and their daughters. the pink door spa provided manicures, pedicures, yoga sessions and other fun activities. it's also a day of fundraising while also raising breast cancer awareness. so great moms and daughters getting spoiled together. go

rebecca's mom said the taunting, stalking, it was physical, it was in person. that will come into effect here as well you claim your clients did nothing online but what about in person? was she part of any of this physical or verbal abuse in person? >> this, first of all the issue with the boy, with the codefendants, my client has absolutely nothing to do with that. you could someone see there is lot of animosity built between those two individuals. now my client and rebecca got into schoolyard fight almost a year prior to her committing suicide. they stopped being friends. there was very little contact in between then. and that is raises, that is basically the extent of her involvement in this case so -- martha: the sheriff in the case, just, grady judd, has been very outspoken on this. he wants you to talk to the state's attorney. he says it is highly unlikely that these girls will do anytime. they have no prior infractions with the law. haven't been in trouble prior to this. he says you need to go talk to the state's attorney. he says you need to stop defending your client and what you need to do

they include rebecca brooks, former editor of the now closed news of the world as well as head of newss arm. rupert murdoch remains head and the parent company of fox newschannel, also facing charges, another former editor of the paper and former media advisor to uk prime minister david cameron. all this is a sign of how far and high up this scandal has reached, specifically brooks, kolson and others are charged with intercepting or hacking into the voicemail messages of various high profile and sensitive figures, like a missing girl later found killed. they're also charged with bribing officials and concealing evidence. those on trial have pled not guilty. the charges have led to parliamentary and other public hearings aimed at rewriting press regulations here along with multiple police investigations and payouts to those targeted and deemed effected by phone hacking. the prosecution is expected to outline its case starting tomorrow. this trial was some 100 witnesses and more than a dozen lawyers could last six months. under a lot of press scrutiny and restrictions. and there are at l

along with chief hartnett, there are suggestion that is rebecca was pushed off the tower and may not have committed suicide. what do you do now? >> well n this case, the sheriff's office seems to be adament that these two women are ruled out as suspects, but i hope they look at the larger circle that if there's some question that it is not a suicide, that all the leads are being tracked down. i assume that's being done. >> and the whole idea of the sheriff even discussing the girl's environment after he was so public, this sheriff judd, he was so public about making the bullies accountable and we're going to bring charges against them. and then to comment on her upbringing, is that -- >> it's confusing. the sheriff in this case has a reputation of being somewhat candid with the media. in fact, i find him refreshing away from the norm. he seems to be passional when speaking to the media. i hope in this case his remarks are being taken out of context. i don't understand why he went into such detail about the living conditions, the sleeping arrangements. >> irrelevant detail to be honest with you, that she didn't have a bed, specifically

well, it is. that's one of the reasons we're keeping you aware of this particular story. you're looking at rebeccairl. two teen girls have been charged with a felony in connection with her death. cnn is now identifying them because authorities are putting out their names as well. the more we learn about what happened here, the more senseless it gets. it may have started out being all about a boy. and he has decided to speak out. take a look. >> this shocked me, made me mad, you know. she should have told somebody. >> reporter: rebecca sedwick's exboyfriend also dated one of the girls arrested for bullying her to death. his relationship with sedwick may have been the reason the bullying started. >> just say something. >> reporter: this is the girl who reportedly also dated borgen. she and 12-year-old kaitlyn roman were arrested and charged with aggravated stalking. when i interviewed guadalupe's parents, they said they didn't know about the boy trouble or bullying. >> did you know other kids were giving rebecca a hard time. >> there was a time one girl was bullying rebecca but she came to her for c

rebecca's, friends to turn against her. she actually instigated a physical fight. the school suspended our fighters. which was our victim as weller incident they changed their classes around. when this went on, the victim's mother took rebecca out of school for the end of the year. then the school system actually put her in a different school this school year. yet the taunting went on. that's when it moved over to the cyber world. so the bully stayed after her even after the mother and the school system were able to significantly break the physical contact. the school was responsive. and i can tell you why. we had a fragile child. we had two bullies that stayed after this child and terrorized and tormented her online telling her nobody liked her. she should go kill herself. ultimately, that's what she did. >> sheriff, thank you so much for taking the time. thank you so much for taking the time to do this investigation. there's no question that the only way this will stop in this country, if there's a better coordinated response among law enforcement, parents and schools. so thank you for taking initiative here. we'll follow the
