we are proud of our area and happy to work with many excellent rec and park workers over the years. in 2008 neighbors complained there were shovels on the street and the park right above it and someone had been using tools to carve a trail all the way up to the hill. dennis kern told us "we agree with you. this trail needs to be removed from our park land". rec and park crews tried a couple of times to discourage the use of trails and cutting tree lumps and on the trail and it got worse. debris was scattered and homeless were there and we reported the mess to the new manager and we was helpful and finally came word for a meeting for park users and indeed a statement from rec and park management. without a formal transparent process "i am looking forward to a open and community wide discussion how we can improve the trail" and why have a meeting if rec and park is opposed to our position. and that's what we recommend to you. thank you very much. >> thank you very much. >> [calling speaker names] if you could come up please. gene. >> gene. >> i'm little hard of hearing. >> and could y

on february 2 we had a lunar new year celebration at the rec center. when we got up there, my husband and i noticed there was just this very tense vibration and we found out that lawrence collins was shot and killed at the rec center. so we lost another youth in the omi. we have had youth shot in front of inner city youth, we have had them shot in front of the omi family resource center. we were devastated, he was going to be 20 years old. as i was going to get ready to speak tonight. i went in my office and these 3 x 5 cards fell out. and i picked then up and read them. and then i realized that seven years ago with a different mayor and a different supervisor, i have been saying the same words, talking about the omi and violence prevention. and i can't believe i am here again and talking about the same thing. i am asking mayor lee work with the omi to come up with a violence prevention plan. i want diana, i am happy that you made director of violence prevention. i am thankful for that, but she needs to come out on a regular basis and to the omi, and c

i am right next door to the parks and rec and those unfamiliar with youngblood coleman. this park was founded by dianne feinstein on the death of two young boys. wasn't gang related. it was an accident because they had no place to play and if no funding is received for the courts, to maintain the trees their deaths and efforts would have gone in vain. i also want to make note that this park is located in a buffer zone between the industrial area and bay view and the residents, and it's the only park to those residents on the hill that provides clean and

rec and park offers pretty much every kind of activities awe - water sport and we do everybody we can to make sure that kids and adults can a participant in anything they choose to participate in. so specifically for our specialized programs are adopted recreation programs we over programs in the camps. i asked about camps as well are particularly for middle age kids we're really trying to expand our recreation programs for teenagers and young adults because that's a - you know, for support for families that's a huge area that needs more attention. but we offer inclusion for any young teens and adult and duties and seniors we try to serve everybody from every age group. and with regard to the special olympics it used to be part of recreation and parks many, many years ago. and we still - they still hold some of their events at the stadium but we're note directly associated with the olympics anymore and one of the questions i. >> one of the questions i forgot
