abc2's corinne redman is here to explain what could be bringing an end to the gridlock. >> reporter: well, when the project is done there will be a new bridge wider and ready for future beltway lane expansion but it's causing major backups on the beltway. by thanksgiving highway official think there should be light at the end of the bridge. drivers complained the driving pattern due to construction is causing confusion. most lanes are split up and narrowed and the traffic patterns changed several times this year on both sides of the bridge. even underneath the bridge traffic patterns have changed. the old freeway entrances are closed so confusion is fast for drivers who are not paying attention. transportation department says the traffic pattern on the outer loop will shift again in november but probably something drivers will like and should improve traffic along liberty road and beltway corridor. >> it's very important as a lot of folks may have seen with charles street. there's traffic pattern shifts at night when you approach it in the morning either side are on liberty road or o

abc2's corinne redman is standing by with details of what police are looking for. >> reporter: harford county sheriff office are investigatingan ateemed abduction of a 14-year-old -- attempted abduction of a 14- year-old boy. they were approached by a stranger driving a dark van while walking to the bus stop at 6:30. the suspect threatened the boy telling him to get into the van. the boy ran home and his mother called police. investigators interviewed nearby neighbors who report spotting a suspicious van. police searched the area but weren't able to locate the suspect. this morning police continued to work to put together a description of the van. many of the neighbors say the area is normally safe so this incident is worrisome. >> absolutely. with having my daughter and one on the way and we have always been pretty content here and felt very safe, and that just sort of uproots things. >> reporter: now the sheriff's office is urging residents to be on the lookout getting a detailed description or license plate and to call harford county police if they see anything suspicious. corinne r
