mid-30s tri-valley. 40 redwood city. 42 san jose.se temperatures are five to six degrees warmer than 24 hours ago. we have this area of low pressure spinning its wheel just off the california coast. it's causing some rain showers into southern california lifting up into the santa barbara area into santa maria and also into san luis obispo. we are notices these clouds on the increase as they are moving towards the bay area. and, in fact, you can play along at home, this is futurecast. the clouds move in from the south becoming partly cloudy later this afternoon. then saturday morning waking up with clouds coming in from the north. we clear out gently overnight saturday night through your sunday morning. then a cold front wants to descend on the bay area. any precipitation we see from any of these different systems and there's three of them will be very minimal. less than a tenth inch of rain but a lot of colder air mass associated with this so if we do see any rain, it can translate into snow down to 2500 feet by monday. down to 1,000

two firefighters recovering after a fire in redwood city.according to san jose mercury news, the house in the emerald hills community caught fire. all three stories of the house were engulfed in flames and nobody was home. it took almost three hours to put out. two firefighters suffered minor facial burns. >>> one of two inmates recaptured after escaping from santa clara county's main jail is scheduled to be sentenced on previous crimes. authorities last week captured le ron campbell after he escaped from jail thanksgiving day the other inmate chavez was arrested the next day in san jose. each could face more than a year of additional prison time on top of lengthy sentences they face for previous crimes. campbell will be sentenced for a series of home invasion robberies. >>> dozens of sexual assault cases and convictions are in jeopardy due to the accuracy of a certain type of forensic test.
