reggie aqui. >> happening today, san francisco supervisors will get an update on the state of the city's economy, including the hotel industry. now remember, there is a strike going on of union hotel workers. it's in its third week. according to a report published with the board's meeting agenda. hotel occupancy rates and revenue have been mostly flat through the summer and well below pre-pandemic levels. of course, last month's dreamforce conference did bring thousands of people to the city and as you would expect, occupancy rates improved during that week, according to the hotel workers union. hotel workers, industry leaders and the city's economists will speak during today's meeting. >> the former executive director of the san jose police officers association is due back in court today. joanne segovia entered a not guilty plea back in august on modified drug charges. the latest filing changed the drug. she is accused of smuggling from fentanyl to another opioid. segovia's attorney says she might plead guilty today as a result. it's not clear if she'll face a lesser sentence or get a p

reggie aqui amanda i'm standing on a street, one of so many here around tampa bay that still is linedbris up and down. i mean, they have not been able to not only take a breath or a res, they're exhausted, but they haven't been able to clean up and now this was from the record storm surge of helene in less than two weeks later, we could have another major landfalling hurricane. right now, milton just rapidly intensified. and i mean drop in pressure like some of the biggest that we've ever seen since records began. it is a cat four, 150 mile per hour max sustained winds. the only good news is it's still more than 700 miles away from us here in tampa bay. the bad news? it's headed for us here along the gulf coast of florida. so we will be tracking it. we'll be talking about the impacts, which again include catastrophic storm surge, meaning the kind that moves homes, the kind that moves cars, talking about the kind that's well over my head. and it's not just the insult to injury here, but a much broader area and even all the way down to fort myers preparing for that type of storm surge.
