reggie aqui. >> thanks, francis. happening today controversial new rules on rv parking begin in san francisco. many unhoused people are going to find it a lot harder to find a place to park at night. abc seven news reporter lena howland joins us in the studio to explain the change and why. some say the rules are inhumane. >> reggie. last month, the sfmta board passed a new plan that will enforce the overnight parking ban for rvs and make it easier to tow them. that takes effect starting today. rvs are already banned on city streets, but they are implementing a mechanism to classify streets as towable for rvs between the hours of midnight and 6 a.m. now that the new rules are in place, vehicles in violation could be towed. an estimated 1400 san francisco residents are living in rvs, including families, critics say towing rvs where people live is cruel, as there are not enough shelter beds and more than 500 families are on the shelter waitlist. melody, who is surviving with a traumatic brain injury, has been living on

our parent company, disney, sent abc seven news anchor reggie aqui to get a first look at the new ride. >> i rode tiana's bayou adventure yesterday and everybody was coming off soaked. and they are all wearing ponchos. not me. i just wore my regular clothes with no change of clothes as a backup. to new orleans square, and this is the home of tiana. now she has. her mom has a store here. she has her restaurant, which i'm standing in front of tiana's palace. and now when you walk along the rivers of america, it'll take you right into her new attraction called tiana's bayou adventure. it takes place after the movie. so now tiana is an entrepreneur. she has her own foods company. we get to meet her friend louis the alligator mama odie, and they are trying to find a band so they can have a party. there's no trauma, there's no drama. it is just pure fun. and when i tell you that i had the best time on this yesterday, and if you loved what it was before, i think you're going to see this as a major upgrade. it's great music that you know from the movie. and just as i said, a whole lot of fun.
