we have snow looking -- moving across connecticut into rhode island. the snow is falling there. the snow is pressing toward the cape ann moving toward the east. there some lighter snowfall south of worcester as well working its way down to southbridge and sturbridge. so far nothing terrible has moved into the region. temperatures are in the 30s. most of towns are above freezing. as the snow moves in, it will drop the temperatures a couple of degrees. once we had midnight you see spotty weather -- spotty areas -- around the cape and islands warming up. north of boston we will still see icy areas during the first part of the day. it won't be until much later in the afternoon that we start to bring in the warmer air slowly from south to north. it will take a while, especially in the merrimack valley well into tomorrow evening before we see any warming. then we will see heavy rain tomorrow night. there's a lot of moving parts in this forecast. in terms of the snow, we are looking at just a coating to a couple of inches. most of it will fall in the midnight hour. overnight temperatur

the steadier snow continues to be down through connecticut as well as rhode island. you notice the deeper shades of blue in those locations. i've been on twitter monitoring the traffic cameras trying to see if this steadier snow is the case. i think for a time, at least early this evening, once these steadier bands find their way up into massachusetts, it will have the same results. eventually the area does cool it off so we will see an accumulation of the snow even on the main roads and that would happen after 9:00 tomorrow night up until early tomorrow morning after midnight. so here you go. this is our storm time line. there is the rain-snow not much, if any, in the way of snow for the city of boston or the south shore. this is a relatively mild storm. even as we work up in the worcester hills and the emergency make valley tomorrow morning thinking more rain than anything else. i think there will be stubborn pockets of cold air tomorrow night. route three out in new hampshire, 93 as well. where there's likely to be a little bit of leftover freezing rain tomorrow m

it's down here, connecticut and rhode island. perhaps you can see is at home. those are the heavier plumes of snow and they will try to move north into massachusetts. i think dry air will rip them apart or reshape them. it's a weather system that really is going to have to fight to get your attention. and i think it will for a few hours this evening, later on this evening and overnight tonight but even with that said, warm air does win the battle. so the storm time line again we'll see the patches of light snow and flurries work north through massachusetts and then eventually up into new hampshire. so it will be snowing steadily for a few hours. emergency mark valley just after midnight and then at that time then milder air begins to work the rain-snow line off the south shore, slowly off the metrowest. this is a slow process back towards 495 and the merrimac valley. the snow easily flips over terrain. the morning commute tomorrow, it's probably a slow-go but not because of snow or sleet or freezing rain but there will be a burst of steadier rainfall tomorrow m

our neighboring state in rhode island might have a bit of a lead on where these calls are coming from. that's according to the providence journal in new report saying that rhode island state police believe the threats there have been electronically traced back to st. petersburg, russia. i'm looking into whether there's a massachusetts connection into the st. petersburg trail. all of this comes after the series of threats not only in the last week or so back in january there were a ton of them disrupting schools and businesses here and across the bay state. these threats again are robo calls. so those are automated calls that are really hard to trace difficult to know who's the one initiating it, even when you find out where the call is coming from. they are responding to each of the incidents so seriously with bomb squads, evacuating schools, canceling schools and cases for day or more and considered so disruptive and provokes and reached out to the fbi as well as massachusetts state police and where the massachusetts threats are coming from and where it is coming to the rhode island
