richard: in equities.u pointed out in an article that instead of focusing on benchmark indexes, that people should invest in the broader chinese economy. given how the situation is playing out, would you still invest in china? richard: i think if you look at the chinese benchmark, you look at the companies listed in stock markets all over the world. you've got alibaba. shery: they have also taken a hit. richard: that's right, but if you are going to invest in china and china goes down, you are going to take a hit. the point is you can find stocks in hong kong, stocks in new york you can't find in hong kong. i think what we should be doing is looking at if you like a unified benchmark of all those companies. then people may not be so hit when those economies start to fall. zeb: so the arbitrage opportunity is not as lucrative as it was in the past. do you think we need to look beyond that in terms of stock selection? richard: that's right. if you look at the debate about the msci that we had about a month a

richard reeve, abc 7 news. kellye: and breaking news right d.c., a shooting outside of the shaw-howard metro station. roz plater is at the crime scene, what can you tell us? in broad praise daylight shooting happened within the hour, so we are just gathering information. we are at seventh and r, 7th street is closed all the way to florida avenue. the shooting happened at about 5:00 tonight, just outside of the entrance to the shaw-howard metro. we don't know how it happened was involved, but we are told the victim is an adult male, was not conscious, not breathing, not a lot of good information initially. the police are investigating right now, a number of police, dozens of officers. this happened to the same neighborhood that has been plagued with violence this week. so much so, there was a shooting tuesday night, three men shot in a drive-by near seventh and o. late last week, the police set the shaw in neighborhood to have 84/seven police presence in the neighborhood to help try to combat some of this crime
