and richard fowler is a nationally syndicated radio show host. ladies and gentlemen, welcome to both of you. good to have you here tonight. you know, richard, you read this story that was published today and it paints a very cozy relationship between the administration and al sharpton saying he frequently texts and they feel good about him being their eyes and ears on the ground in ferguson, missouri. what do you think about that? >> listen, i don't accept the premise of the story at all, martha. here's why. i think the president was getting more than just talking to al sharpton. he was talking to the governor. he was talking to congressmen. on top of that he sent his top law enforcement officer to the region to create some sort of stability and some sort of white house response. so to say that he just relied on al sharpton's eyes, i don't think that's a true story at all. i think he relied on a lot of eyes and a lot of intelligence. not to mention the fbi was on the ground, we already had

richard fowler joins us tonight. now a few comments on our young republican senator who isn't afraid to change his mind when new realities emerge. the senator is marco rubio. the same fellow who upon stepping into his senate office for the first time, was immediately and instantly hailed as an indisputable luminary in the presidential hopefuls and possibles. before a place can be reserved for him, he fell victim to naÏvetÉ and hubris. he was slated to join up with a combination of other senators. republican and democrats seeking the path to so-called immigration reform. or as it is more accurately understood, amnesty. slightly slippery to the left, chuck schumer held the centers senators under his spell. but the house of representatives broke the spell and saved the country and even a few of the senators including marco rubio who is much the wiser for the experience. the former gang of eight individual has shared some wisdom in a letter to president obama saying that after the experience of the last 18 months, i have

the fox website, matt lewis, senior contributor at the daily caller and radio talk show host richard fowler. this media coverage, has it exacerbated the violence? >> it's been very disappointing to watch straight journalists taking sides as we've seen in a lot of these cases. one of the problems i believe is that there are reporters on the scene there who haven't come up through the ranks of having to cover local police in either newspapers or, as i did, on local television. so there's an art to covering police. and i don't think it has happened to the best of the ability of journalists. now, you write about journalists injecting themselves into the story. you even say what could be a better career move than getting yourself arrested. explain. >> right. on one hand, we would all agree it's important to have the press there covering the story. it's a legitimate story, the shooting, and holding the police accountable. on the other hand, let's talk about incentive. if you're a young reporter or blogger, what better way to make a name for yourself than to be involved in -- whether it's being ar

. >> thank you so much, richard fowler. good seeing you. >> thanks, alex. >> identified the officer who shot and killed michael brown. mark potter, what is the latest we know about this? what have you learned? >> reporter: the police were reluck at that point in time to reveal his name for a while. they were citing security concerns for him and his family. under increasing pressure, they finally relented. we know he is darren wilson, that he is 28 years old. he is a six-year officer. four years in the ferguson police department. two years in a neighboring department. he's described by his chief as someone who had no disciplinary problems. he described him as "a distinguished officer." he said the officer is very broken up about what happened and never intended for this to happen. he is under administrative leave. that is normal when there is a case being investigated. it is not only being investigated by local authorities but also by the fbi. they are not saying how long this investigation can take, nor are they revealing a
