rick tyler, msnbc political analyst, also standing by. rick, you heard mr. spicer's daily news briefing there. what jumped out at you? >> the sean spicer is on shaking footing with his relationship with the press but that also goes with the president on shaky ground with the gallup poll of him at 36% and goes to show you if you try to pass legislation that has about 12% support, which is the health care reform act that they tried to pass, you need political capital to do that. so this white house really needs a re-set to start to move forward and tax reform is going to be difficult. you're seeing some of the regulations that they're going to do. those are easy. but it's going to be very hard for them to build political capital to get some big things done. >> all right. this was, i believe, what you would consider the highlight from this news conference that wrapped up just a few moments ago. here is the white house press secretary. >> i've said it from the day that i got here until whatever, that there is no connection. you've got russia. if the president pu

we're back with joe watkins, rick tyler and zerlina maxwell. s a lot of back and forth between him and congressman adam schiff. so some credibility being lost here? is this becoming more about politics than issue? >> absolutely. it's an embarrassment of what nunes has done. adam schiff, he wasn't much better. he in a chuck todd interview on this network said he'd seen more than circumstantial evidence of collusion. now, even if he did have that, why would he say that? he's eventually putting himself in the same place nunes has. what the chairman has done on the intelligence committee is discredit the committee, really hurt the reputation of the committee and in congress and it leads people to believe whether this republican party can become a governing party. i have my doubts. >> joe, on that note, can congressman nunes conduct an impartial investigation now? >> it's going to be hard. i agree with rick that he's hurt his own credibility and hurts republicans. in pursuit of justice, there is no such thing as partisanship in a perfect world. for h

and rick tyler. rick, good to see you, good the see you, jamal. let me start with you, rick.at we just saw. it seems like you have got a lot of competing messages? >> yeah, everybody is on a different page. this is a difficult process. it is a one of the pitfalls of reconciliation. reconciliation is a procedure in which republicans can repeal or amend many parts of obamacare without getting in the -- vote in the senate 60 votes. the problem is they don't have a bill right now that the senate is going to be happy with and this is probably not going to pass. in the meantime they sent it up to cbo. i don't want to denigrate cbo, but it's difficult to predict human behavior, the choices people will make and the future pop lapgss who will buy health insurae, who willurchase it, who wot. who will be able to afford it and who won't. it is a difficult thing to predict. but this cbo report is ultimately bad news for the gop. >> it's not like they are predicting just a few people will lose their insurance. jamal, they are predicting millions of people will no longer have health insuran

having said that, rick tyler and harold ford. on the reality of what this plan really does, rick.old, on the opportunity for democrats. rick, go. >> let's start out with the fact this is all about republicans. all of the clips we saw were all about the divide in the republican party and this is essentially an argument who gets to pay for health care. and should other people pay for other health care? and over arching all of that is the government the best vehicle to provide health care for everybody? a piece on transportation the other day. we can't take care of our road and bridges. we are going to design a health care plan that everybody is happy with. it's not going to happen. second key point is the bill, the american health care act is -- begins with this is a bill to amend obamacare. it is not a repeal. and it is very hypocritical, in my opinion, to put a bill, to take a bill that they put on a barack obama desk. >> give it a different name. >> repeal because they campaigned on it three years in a row and paul ryan saying we are keeping our promise. they are not keeping thei

tyler? >> i'll take it from there, steve. all you need is a theme song for your fed watch and people running around in bikinis. bob pisani and rick santelli. bob, we lived in a world where dovishness was the rule. if we got the threat of a rate hike, everybody said the market would fall. is it fair to say we have flipped where if we don't get a rate hike, a somewhat hawkish tone, that would be the negative scenario? >> yes. the market is set up for the fed to be hawkish. the market tends to drift up going into the fed meeting. it's a well-known phenomena. i see continuing resilience. look at sectors that have been beaten up recently. energy. pharmaceuticals, real estate and utilities. guess what's leading today. energy, pharmaceuticals, real estate and utilities. this sector rotation keeps going on, the market keeps holding up. that's why things have looked so well. s&p, march 1st, the day after president trump spoke, we're down from that historic high. yes, we've been talking about the weakness in energy. it's been weak 8% in the last couple of months. bouncing today and maybe there's some hope that oil can stabilize in that $40
