rob? >> it's a great moment there, david. and you were here in new york during 9/11. you've now been in paris for several days. you've seen the response to both of these tragedies. from your perspective, is there a contrast in the sentiment to this and the reaction to it as well? >> reporter: good question. we've heard those comparisons early on shortly after this happened. certainly you can't do a direct comparison in terms of the number of victims. but in the psychological impact, i do think there is a comparison, rob. and one of the things we'll have to wait to see. i remember being in the city, strong military presence, tight security in those days right after. there are more police here, but there's still not a lot of tight security that i've seen, and i've confirmed that with some other people here. we'll wait to see if that has to change here in france. that's maybe a gut-wrenching moment for them after this attack and the "charlie hebdo" attack in january. rob? >> it does take time
