rob mayeda is here now to tell us how quickly it will be dry. >> rain totals today, most of it fell this morning. abo about.3 in napa. right now, the radar showing you, we think will be the last wave of showers moving back to the bay area from the north bay to the delta. periods of light rain moving north to south, not quite in the south bay. tomorrow morning, mostly cloudy skies to start. we will see locations picking up .10 inch of rain. tomorrow morning, all kind of cloud cover and a chance of seeing a few shower sboos the north bay. things begin to change as we head into the afternoon. clearing skies and temperatures soaring closer to the 70s and 80s. ahead in the seven day forecast, we'll look at that in a few minutes. back to you. >> rob, thanks very much. the wet conditions played a role in a deadly crash in san mateo county. a 17-year-old boy from saratoga died after he lost control of his car and hit a tree around noon. it was highway 35 south of alpine road on the border of san mateo and santa clara county. both directions of the highway were closed and opened two hours later.

let's check with meteorologist rob mayeda right now as we look at a picture of sunol.is a big difference from yesterday. yesterday the overcast and even this morning we had some drizzle and rain in spots. but things are getting better down here. >> the weather around here has been relatively cool. 69 degrees in san jose. very interesting on the fire threat at fort mcmurray there in canada, the temperatures in alberta have been even warmer than the bay area. we had numbers in the 80s over the last couple of days. good news along the firelines at fort mcmurray, temperatures are cooling off. as we switch to the satellite and radar view, you can see the upper level system moving through. not dropping really anything in the way of rain, though, but you can see how the hotter temperatures now have moved off to the east out towards portions of saskatchewan. so things are starting to cool along the firelines but it may take weeks if not months for the rainy season to kick up towards september and october before they see relief in canada. closer to home, we have had showers the

i'm vicky nguyen alongside meteorologist rob mayeda who is standing by with a look at the micro climate forecast. good morning to you, rob. >> good morning. we do have the clouds around, light rain in a few spots. another view of the golden gate bridge. we'll show you the view from the south side there. as you mentioned, vicky, the tops of the towers have been taken over by low clouds. the rain gauge is on four wheels. you see a few windshield wipers going, light rain in ocean beach right now and you see here on the doppler radar view some showers moving from north to south, this it line, though, is weakening as it reaches san jose. a little lift as the air gets forced to the hills for a few early showers. we'll see this through 9:00 or 10:00 this morning, partial clearing around lunch time and for the after highs mostly in the 60s, just slightly warmer temperatures today but ahead we have 70s and maybe even some 80s in the forecast as we move to the middle part of the week. the seven-day forecast coming up. >>> a warm-up sounds nice, thank you. a hunger strike in san francisco is over,

i'm michele roberts alongside rob mayeda.f pressure on the forecast this weekend, mom's day weekend. some light rain out there today, right now san jose has cloudy skies, 56 degrees, and a few light showers there across the santa cruz mountains around the hilltops in the east bay, north bay a few light rain showers and these will continue to move from north to south during the day today so we've got some rain at times, temperatures staying from the low 60s around lunch time and numbers in the mid 60s for highs today. it's all part of an area of low pressure which will start to move away from the bay area later this evening while rain totals are relatively low about less than 0.10 for most of the bay area the wetter two of the weekend days is today. notice tomorrow the low starts to move to the east so there's good news and the three-day outlook as we go into sunday you're seeing clearing skies for tomorrow a warmer finish to the weekend and as we move into the new week temperatures climbing into the 70s and 80s. by the middle

meteorologist rob mayeda here now with your microclimate forecast.nd i guess the headline today is wind. >> yeah, a lot of wind. less wind tomorrow. warming for your sunday. outside we still have clear skies in san francisco. a nice evening. 61 degrees. oakland 67. but here even after 8:00 you're seeing temperatures in the 70s around the bay area. check out san jose. 72 degrees. over toward the tri-valley. some of the warmest temperatures we're seeing right now, still 74 degrees out by dublin. during the day today both locations pleasanton, ocean beach starting off in the 50s. during the afternoon some rth winds there around ocean beach. mid 60s, mid 70s inland toward pleasanton but those same north winds moving from the higher hills down toward santa cruz, 80 degrees today. when you get north winds, that air descends, it compresses, warms and dries as we head out toward the seashore there around santa cruz. you get about five to six degrees of warming for every 1,000-foot drop in elevation. so that wind configuration good for a warm day in santa cru

rob mayeda is here. if you didn't get outçó today, would this week be okay? >> not so much.nd right now 57 degrees. you've got low clouds out there tonight, not just for san francisco, but we think pushed all the way inland and into the tri valley and the dublin grade and perhaps a few patchy low clouds down to the south bay for the morning. and sunshine inland during the day, but that all-day sea breeze is going to help keep temperatures running about 5-8 degrees cooler than the highs we saw today. mostly low 50s for the morning. lunch time, temperatures still pleasant around livermore. san francisco, 60s, and not much warmer than that by mid afternoon. temperatures in the upper 70s, low 80s possible out towards saratoga and los gatos. should see south winds into the north bay, which will cool the temperatures down to the 60s and 70s around the tri valley. 70s from dublin over towards livermore. so we've got a cool down coming for the middle part of the week. rain chances begin wednesday, and they may be sticking around for a while, no matter where you are. again, the best
