we begin with meteorologist rob mayeda. he has a closer look at what's happening right now. >> right now we are beginning to see the significant rain move away from the bay area and pushing out. as you can see right now, the flood watches are still up for the santa cruz mountains in the north bay and a flood advisory around marin county has been dropped. we will continue to see the watches likely dropping, likely within the next two hours or so. san francisco, you have fog. the rain for the most part has moved out. in san jose, still seeing rain showers now. moving away from downtown as our storm ranger mobile doppler radar shows a significant clearing line now from downtown san jose west over towards palo alto. san francisco, oakland, patchy fog. but again, the main rain event, starting to move out of the bay area. so as we look at this hour by hour, we are seeing this clearing develop as which go through the afternoon. but check out that low around the pacific coast. and 60 to 70 miles an hour winds today. this is a massi

let's bring in meteorologist rob mayeda. we had some sunshine but now we're back to rain again. >> 70s and 80s earlier today. with those clouds spilling in, it's locking in the warm air. 68 at 11:00 in san jose. san francisco, high of 75. 65 degrees as the clouds began to spill in. a lot of the energy of this incoming storm is riding off to the north of the bay area. rainfall projections tomorrow f you're expecting big rain, you're going to be disappointed. but they got a tenth of an inch coming down in spots of the bay area. changes that involve rain at times. big drop in those high temperatures as we get towards wednesday and thursday. highs in the 50s and 60s. and we will see a colder and stronger weather system coming in late wednesday, which will pack quite a bit of sierra snow and more rain for the bay area. the hour by hour time line on those two storms and a full forecast coming up in about 12 minutes. >>> this is a pivotal week for facebook. a live look at capitol hill where it's a little after 2:00 in the morning.

let's bring in meteorologist rob mayeda with an updated forecast. >> from 80s yesterday to misty skies starting the giants game this evening at at&t park. 59 degrees and winds at 17 miles per hour. san jose, a lot of clouds but not necessarily a lot of rain drops. 64. and the radar does show scattered showers. the most intense part of the weather system is off shore but at times seeing lightning strikes off the coast of santa cruz and heading toward salinas and hollister will likely weaken over the next hour. so relatively weak but good enough for showers outside this evening. tomorrow will start the day dry but finish with rain and wind. a stronger system drops on in which is also dropping our temperatures as we await a weather system dropping out of the gulf of alaska now giving us a taste of winter and snow levels as low as 4,000 feet. the time line of when more substantial arraigns hour by hour in the forecast coming up in 12 minutes from now. >>> you can keep track of the incoming rain there on the your phone. download our free nbc bay area weather app for forecast and alerts spec

meteorologist rob mayeda is here with the microclimate forecast. it's beautiful out there. >> it was like a summertime microclimate forecast yesterday, with almost 80 inland. today it will be cooler. mid-40s to start things off in santa rosa, chilly in livermore. you see the fog in the north bay. visibilities in a few spots at a quarter mile. hour by hour for easter sunday, hazy sunshine. upper 60s around the bay, mid-70s inland today with lots of sunshine to go around. pretty comfortable temperatures, still slightly above average today. and it looks like the workweek will start off similarly. then as we go through the second half of the week, there's a potential for some heavier rain making a comeback. we'll look at how it could impact your plans for next weekend, coming up in 15 minutes. >> a change-up to the pattern we've had, sunny weather during the weekends, now it could flip. rob, thanks so much. >>> pope francis presided over easter mass this morning at the vatican. tens of thousands of worshippers underwent heavy security checks to enter s

now, rob mayeda joining us now. is this from a week ago or something? >> no. it's that carryover weekend trend where you keep having rain showers at times. right now if you look closely on the san francisco camera lens, yes, there is a chance of some brief passing light showers. a few earlier. in san francisco, breezy and cool. wind speed at 15 miles per hour. emeryville, the wind across the water there. temperatures in the low 60s with winds of about 15 to 20 miles per hour. in san jose, a few breaks of sunshine now. 66 degrees. nothing like the 80s we saw earlier this week. lots of clouds out there. you can see to the north we do have some rain. that's where the focus of the rain chances will likely be for tonight. but our futurecast, if you look closely, even around the south bay as we head towards tomorrow morning, a slight chance of seeing a few of those isolated spring showers. that's the way the day will begin. we're give you an hour by hour outlook coming up in about ten minutes. >> remember, you can track the forecast with our nbc bay area app. it is

rob mayeda, let's talk about our bay area weather. >> we normally stay here for the weather, right? right now we're watching a bit of a break in between storms. clearing skies. chilly temperatures outside before more rain comes in heading into tomorrow evening. now, a live look. at&t park. happy seagulls out there. they had to wait a bit longer to get some of their snacks after the game. nice outcome too. you'll see that coming up in sports as we're looking at temperatures in the mid-50s after a high of 65 degrees. low 50s heading into tomorrow morning. right now dublin 53 under clear skies. we'll see increasing clouds for your morning commute but no worries about rain for your morning commute. evening commute a different story. san jose, mostly clear. 56 and morning temperatures in the 40s and 50s. may start out with some sunshine but as we head towards lunch time, you'll begin to see the clouds thicken. today we had numbers close to 70 in san jose. tomorrow, the downward trend continues. low to mid-60s for highs around the santa clara valley. mid 60s around the tri-valley. closer

the rain is coming down steady still and rob mayeda, what does the rest of the time line look like?the bay and on the radar areas around san jose which you can see. really muggy outside. 62, it's raining. you can see how most of the south bay is dealing with moderate rain at times, but fog now in san francisco and some clearing in the north bay. you can see how the moisture is starting to move off to the south and east. it's picking up from 6:00 to 9:00, you see how the main rain band pushes out. throughout the day, still a chance of scattered showers, as the air flow shifts from north to south. even around the hill tops to the south bay there's still a chance we could see some showers. so today, highs in the upper 60s. a muggy day with rain changing to isolated showers. tomorrow, more clearing and as we get into the beginning of the week at least a bit of a warm-up as the highs approach the mid 70s. next tuesday, not bringing nearly the amount of rain as with this recent pattern. rain on tuesday and thursday mainly around the north bay. back to you. >> thanks, rob. you can keep tra
