[ signal breakup ] it's live. it's hi-def doppler radar and i can confirm that spot of green over the marina area a more light rainfall. then when you see yellow and bay bridge in treasure island that's the heavy cell of precipitation that passed through us here just about five minutes ago. let's go ahead and take a wider look at activity. the front is over the central valley. but we have bands of showers streaming across the east bay. another band of showers is lined up off the sonoma coast and we have that rain shower over half moon bay. we have rain falling now. it will continue to fall. i'll tell you how much more rain to expect and how much has already accumulated and how high thes

. >>> now to roberta gonzales who is very busy. >> it's very windy and we are having heavy downpours as this front associated with this classic cold front having nothing to do with el nino at all is racing across the north bay. it's impacting middletown, clearlake and cloverdale very much concerned with throws locations because those, of course -- very much concerned with those locations because those, of course, had the burned-out areas of the "valley fire" a few months ago so we could see mud slides there. this front contains winds up to 50 miles an hour, downed trees a possibility, downed power lines a possibility. right now the heaviest activity you can see it by the yellows and reds. this is the front. it's been dumping up to 3/4" of rain in the past few rush hours. we have a cell a heavy one into san ramon impacting 680 south over towards the sunol grade. we have some heavy rainfall that's now falling with gusty winds around the altamont pass. here you have your peninsula rain showers. green is a light rain, yellow is the more moderate rainfall and then we start to see the area

anne makovec will let us know what it's like out in the elements but roberta gonzales is tracking the storm. >> you can tell that anne is experiencing some very gusty winds at this hour. good morning, everyone. but we are going to start off with our "eye on the storm" with our live hi-def doppler radar. the front containing rain and winds pushing out of the north way going east. still, see those areas of yellow and orange? that's some heavy downpours from the fairfield area through sacramento. and then now in the eastern portion of the bay area, that's where we're seeing some heavy downpours from san leandro through hayward also right around the 580680 corridor. leaving the san ramon area crow canyon along highway 680 towards the sunol grade. some areas have only light rain. more moderate on the peninsula and the san mateo bridge. and we see that the golden gate bridge at this hour is rain- free. however, we have had a lot of precipitation there this morning and the winds are the second side of the story. wind gusts to 45 and 50 miles per hour. air temperature very mild right now but
