ron, i wanted to ask this. last time we heard paul ryan, he was asked directly about the obama administration surveilling the campaign and he said i don't think that is the case s. he offing proof of something ryan doesn't know? >> sure. but i think the more important thing is what are we talking about? we're talking about an investigative technique that the previous administration cannot unilaterally order. it is required to go through a legal process to meet a legal standard of evidence before they can obtain a wire tap if in fact this was done. and as we talked about, there have been a number of reports in both mainstream and kind of conservatives outlets that this in fact was done. it's not clear to me how it benefits president trump to confirm if in fact that is what he is doing that the obama administration met a legal standard of concern about their contact with russia sufficient to obtain a wire tap under the foreign intelligence surveillance act. i mean, that is itself a major kind of movement forward of this story. amid all

i think he's guilty a little bit -- to come back to ron's point, there's a widespread assumption in the community that paululd not be bringing this to a vote on thursday unless he -- unless he thought he was safe in getting a vote. i think we will have a favorable vote coming out of the house. donald trump has weighed in in the final weeks in a fashion that seems to be fairly effective. you know, we often talked about president obama didn't -- was a reluctant warrior sometimes when it came to negotiating with the politicians. but trump has thrown himself into this. one thing ron could address -- once they get a bill through the house, if that happens thursday, a bill that goes to the right, that becomes the republican proposal. signed off by the president and house leadership. that proposal is by tightening up on medicaid even more rapidly, making other changes to the right, the numbers of people who will be without insurance are going to go up, not down. they're going to defend the bill in a public that is beginning to have a lot of second thoughts about whether they want this particular replacement. >> f
