kate rooney has the latest on major league baseball's plants, okay, thanks catherine, yes, major league baseball has been struggling to determine the best way to salvage the 2020 season with the hope of a summer start some movement on that front today as first reported by espn's jeff passan the league is proposing a short 50 game season. conversations between the league and the players union have yet to yield a definitive plan for when or how to proceed with the season. and so now the league is offering a plan for a shortened version that would start in july and wrap up in october. under this players would receive their full salaries prorated for the shorter schedule. this proposal is in counter to what the players association presented yesterday which was 114 game season that would start on june 30th and also allow players who felt unsafe in light of covid-19 an opt out clause well as the nba moves forward with its plan to resume gameplan july. the national basketball coaches association is addressing another concern today the nbc a announced the creation of a committee on racial injus
