the first one was onthe west side of santa rosa. that is near the santa rosa creek trail and railroad tracks. over the next few hours, firefighters ended up putting out 13 small grass fires. they believe they are linked. a fire marshal told the press democrat it appears someone used a letter to set the fires and went from location to location using a bicycle. new buildings were damaged. anyone with information is asked to call santa rosa police. >>> in livermore, two grass fires triggered a quick response from firefighters. the first one was around 3:50 pm yesterday afternoon near the ruby hill golf course. firefighters were able to contain the flames by 5 pm. no buildings were threatened and no injuries were reported. the cause of the fires are under investigation. >>> we all know to call 911 in an era emergency. we have been told dispatchers cannot quickly track the exact location when emergency calls coming in from a cell phone. apple is taking action that may solve that problem. ktvu's alyssa harrington joins us live to explain
