ryan yamamoto is live with the very latest and what is the mood there? >> reporter: as you can imagine, the mood is very sad and this is a community in morning. a lot of questions. out to the portuguese center here at half moon bay. we are now awaiting the arrival of governor gavin newsom who landed here in half moon bay at around 2:00 , meeting with first responders and members of the families victims. here is what we know so far. as you mentioned, seven people were shot and killed. five men, two women. another shooting victim is now being treated at stanford medical center. that suspect, chunli zhao, will be charged with seven counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted murder. we are told that he used to work at one of farms an also used work at another mushroom farm. investigators are calling this a case of workplace violence. let me give you an idea of what we are looking at right now. you can see a large gaggle of reporters. these are national news people, as they are once again awaiting for the arrival of gavin newsom. in the meantime, j

ryan yamamoto is at the sheriff substation with more on the investigation and the governor's visit. first, katie nielsen has a harrowing story of survival. >> reporter: juliette, the woman that we are going to be talking about worked here, at concord farms. now, investigators are still trying to figure out exactly what happened, but we did have a chance to talk with one of her family members earlier , and when we did speak with him, he said that she was working here at the time of the shooting. he told me his ex-wife was working in one of the back buildings, with three of her coworkers when the suspect walked in. she says she recognized the suspect as a former employee, and says the suspect asked her if they were almost done for the day. she says she told him yes. they were just finishing up and were about to go home. she says the suspect didn't say anything else, and left, only to return moments later with a gun, shooting her three coworkers and killing them. >> reporter: as for why the gunman did not target her, she said she never had any issues at work with the suspected gunman.

. >> i am ryan yamamoto. >> more than 220 people are being rescued from an a strand that was being hit by a mudslide in the niles canyon area around eight: 35 this morning. they say the train was not seriously damaged and it did not derail what they had to bring in another train to take passengers back to the pleasanton station. >> in the last 20 minutes, a viewer sent us these photos from inside the train. from tracy, who was on his way to his job at apple when the hillside came down against the windows. the windows cracked, it looked like. the train was traveling along the creek next to highway 84, which is also niles canyon road. >> an area that saw plenty of landslide flooding during the recent storms. alameda creek looks like it is overflowing today. we just got this video from the other side of the river. you can workers looking under the train and around the wheels and disconnecting two of the cars. unclear exactly what needs to be done to get the train out of there or how long it might take . we will be following this breaking story for you all afternoon. we will have an update

i am ryan yamamoto. finally near the end of the brutal wave of storms. we are seeing damage all across the bay area. we started in the berkeley hills. 10 homes have been evacuated because of a mudslide. our chopper was over the area as cruza started assessing the damage off of wildcat canyon road and the spiral on the border of tilden park. thankfully, there have not been any injuries. officials say there are about 20 people impacted. the red cross is helping these people out. a new video just enough another huge slide in the berkeley hills along alvarado road. not far from the claremont hotel. no word on any structural damage. we saw at least one vehicle stuck in the mud. we have a crew on the way to check it out. in the meantime, a dozen homes and three apartments had to be evacuated overnight in pittsburgh. first responders used a raft to rescue one woman over a flooded street inner harbor street near ventura avenue. officials say the flooding started around midnight when the creek began to overflow. >> it's crazy. i've never seen it before like this.

i am elizabeth cook >> i'm reed callahan, and for ryan yamamoto and the it over to meteorologist paul heggen. >> another atmospheric river. we had some last week and a couple more in the future. got to talk about what they specifically are. not necessarily associated with the atmospheric river. rain yesterday was not part of it. narrow channels in the atmosphere that transport a lot of water vapor from tropical parts of the atmosphere. the same water transports that you see in the form of liquid water at the mouth of the mississippi river, which flows into the gulf of mexico. that level of water flowing to the atmosphere of her head can result in flooding as we just saw on latter-day.
