today a judge ruled that s.f.ed didn't follow state law when it voted to end lowell's competitive academic admissions policy. back in february the board voted to repeal the policy and replace it with a lottery system used at other schools. however, the judge says the district didn't follow the brown act. that law requires officials to provide information on agendas about items that a board is going to be considering. a lola -- lowell alumni filed a lawsuit and said they used the flood process to change the admission policy. the school board is reviewing the decision to figure out what to do next. >>> flood victims are getting money after suing san jose. the renters and homeowners were affected by the 2017 coyote creek flood. you can see some of the footage here. this week san jose city council approved an agreement to settle that lawsuit for $750,000. that money will be split between the plaintiffs. heavy rain made the anderson reservoir overflow which eventually led to the flooding of several of these neighborhoo
