and today a special commission on crime in oakland will deliver its report on ways to make the city safer. kpix 5 reporter cate caugiran joins us now with a preview and new numbers regarding robberies in the city. good morning, cate. >> reporter: good morning, michelle. this is a report that the city paid about $250,000 for and this morning, neighbors are hoping the city can get its money's worth. the report was prepared by a team of law enforcement consultants including bill bratton. he was the former l.a. police chief and a commissioner of the new york and boston police departments. now, this report comes on the heels of another less favorable report in the "oakland tribune." the tribune called oakland the robbery capital of america. the report was based off of 2011 fbi figures that surveyed cities with more than 100,000 people. it shows oakland had 851 robberies per 100,000 residents. that's significantly higher than number 2 cleveland, ohio. san francisco was the second worst this is bay area with richmond and antiochiot far behind in the bay area. the tribune says there are more than
