let's go to sal. are wet and traffic is slow this morning. >> it is very slow in some areas. the good news about it being slow, we don't get a lot of serious crashes. let's take a look at the eastshore freeway, westbound 80. that traffic is going to be slow in richmond and el cerrito. i will show you more of that. here in berkeley, it does pick up as you head out to the macarthur maze. i also want to mention that the bay bridge toll plaza now is ramped up to about a 25-minute delay unless you are using the carpool lane. average time 25 minutes before you make it on the bridge. peninsula traffic is a little bit slow in san mateo. san mateo and dumbarton bridge okay. southbound 101 near cesar chavez, clearing an accident in san francisco and that traffic is going to be slow. we had an earlier crash southbound 101 in tiburon and that's on the shoulder but traffic is backed up off but if you are driving from novato to san rafael, you will see slow traffic beginning near highway 37. across the richmond bri

here's sal. >>> good morning. we do have a commute that's kind of busy out there. we want to show you some things. first of all, we're looking at highway 24. we had an earlier crash near pleasant hill road. that's been cleared. but traffic is going to be really busy this morning. you can see traffic all the way to the tunnel. when you get to the toll plaza, there's a big delay and all of the cash lanes. it's backed up for a 30, 35- minute delay before you make it onto the span. now, remember, traffic all over the bay, some damp roads and also everyone is back from the holiday. 580 through livermore is slow. 680 down to the sunol grade is. 680 from pleasanton all the way down to fremont is a huge mess. i would think of an alternate route. westbound 580 is better than 880 this morning. again, traffic is slow all over the place. i do want to mention that b.a.r.t. has major delays. this is because of some earlier problems on the system. as we go through the maps, i want to show you. b.a.r.t., major delays because of -

here is sal. >>> steve, we have bad commute news. a lot of people are not going to be taking bart because the system is not running. that means traffic is likely to be much busier on your commute if you drive any way. especially if you drive on the bay bridge or the san mateo bridge. let's take a look at the bay bridge that is already crowded this morning. here it is after 6:00 and we have a lot of people on 880 and people have heared there is no bart service. and the short notice is is for people to hop in the car and drive. that is exactly what is going on. this is a look at the san mateo bridge. the traffic is looking okay. i remember its very windy out there. so especially if you drive a small car, be careful on the causeways and bridges and all the roads really. on the peninsula when you get over there highway 101 looks pretty good. northbound 101 in san jose already some slowing. for the most part the south bay commute is doing very well. again a reminder no bart service until further notice. cal train and muni are not experien
