what is your forecast, sal, for our morning commute? >> i'd say it will be moderate, if i were a guessing man. >> okay. >> friday, sometimes we do have -- sometimes on fridays, we have better-than-usual conditions. it's moderate right now. barring any major crashes, 680 looks good by the time you reach fremont but there is a little bit of slowing in pleasanton before you reach the spot. this is the payoff, if you will. let's go to the bay bridge toll plaza, it is just a little better than it normally is. it's about a 15, 20-minute drive across into san francisco. if you are driving on southbound 680 in contra costa county, eight-minute drive from 242 southbound to it ignacio valley road. not too bad. that's a pretty good drive. 80 westbound between hercules and richmond, that looks okay. a little bit of -- so the entire drive from the carquinez bridge to the macarthur maze is about 12 minutes. 7:22. let's go to steve. >> thank you, sal. sunrise for some. some of the high, thin clouds kind of thinning out a little bit. but mostly cloudy

thank you sal. new this morning, the investigation is underway to a suspicious morning fire that damaged a building owned by oakland's children's hospital. it started shortly before 3:00 this morning at the building on 53rd street and it's just around the corner from the hospital. ktvu's tara moriarty has been covers the story since 4:30 this morning. she just talked to workers at the scene. good morning tara. >> good morning, yeah, we spoke to somebody who works for children's hospital of oakland in some offices across the street which caught fire. she says there are four people who work in the office and they're going to be relocated across the street until this can be fixed. you can see the tape is up here, and the fire broke out near that rubble beneath the tarp at the back of the building on the corner. whether it was done maliciously or whether a homeless person simply, you know, built a fire to keep warm and it got out of control, that is something that investigators are now looking at. this

let's bring sal back.re busy and you got a whole team working on this deadly crash that happened. >> we do, as a matter of fact in alameda dave and tori on otis drive. right in front of the southshore center near park street. a woman was killed earlier this morning. she was crossing the street hit by a minivan and now the investigation continues. that minivan is the one that was involved in the deadly crash. the person driving the minivan stayed on the scene and is cooperating with police investigators but otis drive is still closed and should be for a while. you can see it doesn't look like they are anywhere picking it up. some of the woman's personal belongings are still in the street. if you are trying to get to the southshore center, you will be delayed in the area. let's take a look at the commute on 92. it's a mess because of a big rig that flipped over. 92 at upper skyline. if you are trying to get out of half moon bay, i don't think 92 is the way. might want to use highway 1 through pacifica. right

sal you are watching 280. everything else. 280 is slow.od morning in san jose, you can see it's slow through downtown. we've been looking to see if there are any crashes as a result of -- causing the slowdown. there is a traffic hazard northbound 280 at saratoga avenue. it looks like a vehicle went into the center divide. not sure if it's a crash or not. but traffic will be busy as you drive through. northbound 280 at saratoga. you can see on the maps that 280 is slow. but so is 85 and 101. so not one freeway stands out as an alternate. some drive times, 280 from serramonte boulevard to san bruno, only about 7 minutes. 101 from the 280 interchange in san francisco to san bruno avenue, about ten minutes there for some drive times. let's go to one last live picture here. that would be the westbound bay bridge. that's backed up for a 30- minute drive time into san francisco. here's steve. >> thank you, sal. a very good morning. under clear skies. temperatures a little cool this morning. we're on our way to a warm to hot week. in fact, it will
