sal castaneda is joining us right now and he will tell us how traffic will be impacted. >> today's firefighter funeral is expected to have a big impact on transportation in san francisco. following the funeral, a mile long motorcade will make its way through the city and head out for a private burial at holly cross cemetery. southbound 280 will be shut down to the ceremony boulevard exit during this time. the closures are expected to be in place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.. the procession will also slow muni service. here's a list of the routs or delays that should be effected. f market, j church, 5 fulton, 21 hayes, 31 balboa, 38 geary. we will be seeing quite an impact for traffic and muni service because of this funeral. one of the things i want to mention is if you want to get there without taking your car we strongly recommend that, i think the 38 geary is still the best way. at 4:33 let's go back to the desk. >>> firefighters from across the country are attending today's memorial service at mr. mary's cathedral. ktvu was there when one station arrived from california. he has direct ties

live in san francisco, sal castaneda ktvu channel 2 news. >>> all right, thanks sal. now we head down to the south bay and robert handa. what's the situation there tonight? >> well, frank. the south bay has had to deal with drought conditions for so many years. for many people we talked to today the rain and our brimming reservoirs seem abnormal. gabrielle and her family rushed to the reservoir to enjoy the weather. >> it feels really fresh. i like the smell when it gets all wet and it looks really nice. really calming. >> reporter: today's rain caps offer a very good season for the santa clara water district. but the agency says it also shows how much the continuous years of drought have affected the public's point of view. at one time the amount of rainfall we got and the rising reservoir levels would have been considered normal or just about normal since 2006. >> even though next year we're a fairly dry year we would have reserves that are going to be carried over until the next year. so our reservoirs will probably have a good amount of water left in them for next

we want to go over to sal castaneda who joins us with some of the planned closures. sal. >> the biggest closure will be geary boulevard. that is rather long closure. vidaro street all the way up to the hill. and there is partial closures. going down the hill it will be closed eastbound in the same area. this is a good area to avoid if you are going to today's funeral. the authorities are strongly encouraging you to use transit. one of the things you can do is to use a 38 geary which will be rerouted. those are motorized coaches so they can get around the area. some of the other muni delays are the f market and j church. a lot of bus lines including the 71, 24, and 5 and just a bunch of others. if you take muni you should check if your line will be effected. we strongly encourage you not to drive in this area. the funeral procession will make its way down tacoma and there will be delays on interstate 280. this is an all day thing that will be happening today. we'll have more on this coming up. let's go back to the desk. >> as we mentioned firefighters from around the n
