no question about that especially toward the salisbury area. all right. let's get into it. maryland's most powerful radar, all sweeps show clear. right now temperatures running in the mid to upper 40s. 45 in easton. 48 in baltimore. 46 in hagerstown. winds from the north and west around five to 10, so a bit of a cool breeze and very low humidity right now. it's very dry air in place and this is going to kind of, i think, be with us for a couple of days. i want to he is you the neighborhood forecast. we're going to have a mix of sun and clouds. we'll go with low to mid-50s on average. 54 for glen burnie and 53 for reisterstown. as we take a look at the overall pattern it's clear across the east and really not much happening over the next 24 hours as high pressure sits to our north. that will keep us dry and most of the day tomorrow. there is one little indication on the models we could get some moisture trying to come up the coastline tomorrow during the day. that could mean a few rain showers but this looks like that will primarily be for the beaches and the whole thing sta

enhanced snow showers now hitting western maryland where temperatures are falling. 75 this afternoon at salisbury and dropped 20 degrees down there. we're in the 40's. 30's just the rest of us. and 20's now at oakland. where there is strong gusty winds making it feel even colder and those winds have been pushing east throughout the day. a peak wind gust of 48 miles an hour. b.w.i. marshall. up here in the catock ton mountains -- in cacotocin mountains, still gusting to 35 in southern delaware around georgetown. and there is a wind advisory at least until midnight. and another few minutes and it may be extended past that for a few hours. depending on how these winds behave here in the next few minutes. western maryland, the wrnt storm or wrnt weather advisory make that, in garrett county for several inches of snow. those westerly wind hit the west side of the mountains, squeezed out the moisture and with the colet air in place -- cold air in place, three to five to six inches of snow in garrett county. east of the mountains a partly cloudy sky and windy and cold. 30's and 40's to start the weekend

we were in the mid 50's. 42 at salisbury. 47 at edgewood, elk ton, parkton.derick jumped to 43 sm 4 -- 4 . nice conditions today. you notice this cool front out to the northwest. this is element one in this next storm system coming through. and then the set-up. this storm moves into that colder air once it approaches that mid-atlantic region. a couple caveats here. one it may travel far enough to be in this section. two we see thunderstorms down in the louisiana and texas coast. if they start developing down in georgia tomple, that may interfere with the amount of moisture. again, maybe you are not rooting for snow. i don't know. so far, fairly dry. today is not the snow day or even the chance for it. scattered clouds. unseasonably mild again. low 50's for high. southwest winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour. winter storm watches tomorrow. this is where all the models agree, the afghanistanniest of the snow. futurecast shows rain in the morning and afternoon. later in the day, one computer model puts snow into our area but stops short at the pennsylvania line. ot

i'm from salisbury university. i have three really quick questions or comments directed toward professor coffey. all about agnew, as you can imagine. i've worked through the agnew papers a little bit. and i found them to be pretty interesting and pretty rich for what they held. there at the university of maryland. so i thought you might want to comment on that. i also was fascinated to study agnew from the angle of native american indian policy. and it kind of dovetails with what you were talking about. he took an interest in that. >> yeah, he did. >> i think it showed his liberalism. when it got serious in 1970, he was nowhere to really be found in it. the last thing, when you mention these two marylanders, agnew and morton, you've got this ideological divide in the party. it's also fascinating that it's a geographical divide. and maryland being something of a border state. that those two names come to the forefront. >> yeah. first of all, the agnew papers are at the university of maryland college park. after agne

salisbury 42. 41 ocean city. you can see the temperatures warm as it moves to the south. it becomes a rainization down on the -- it becomes a rain situation down on the eastern shore. it is a wet snow. the ground in many cases a little slush on the roads -- the ground in many cases melting this, so slush on the roads. problems in iced up roads and collection of precipitation. here you see the moisture we have now at the rain-snow line roughly at annapolis or baltimore. it is limited. it only goes out as far as from rick. then we take a break. this will be another part of the storm. that will go off into the atlantic and become a big nor'easter. this cold front will introduce some very cold air coming in later this afternoon. as we get windy the temperatures will take a nose dive and we'll notice it during the day. here's our forecast. a mix of snow and rain. generally 1 to 2 inches. a few areas could get more than that where it is a bit cooler. northwest winds at 15 to 25. some gusts may be stronger than that. not quite as strong this morning, though. 46 to 41 the high te

salisbury, ocean city, 52. it is chilly air in the mountains. almost 40 degrees and frostburg. the shenandoah national park, 40's and 50's on skyline drive, charlottesville. it looks like this area of virginia will be hit hardest. we are watching closely to see how much colder air will get into those locations over the next 48 hours. it will be chilly tonight. clear skies, light wind. the sunset this evening at 5:45, just a few minutes away. the storm is developing in the upper levels of the atmosphere, over northern mexico. it is pumping moisture through much of texas, arkansas, tennessee, light showers. heavier rain on the texas gulf coast. this is the moisture soars, again. now we need cold air to combine with that. all of this purple and blue, james bay, port hudson bay, that is cold air starting to move south. the upper bubble jet stream is streaking towards the land. looks like it will be drawn that cold air south. saturday, saturday night, the cold air arrives, the butcher coming up from the gulf coast. -- the moisture is coming up from the gulf coast, especially right h

salisbury 39. on the boardwalk, 39. 32 in hagerstown. in the 20's out in western maryland. here's the two-part storm. one part is pulling away from the i-95 corridor here. the second part is sitting out to the west waiting to come in. there is a cold front coming into ohio and west virginia. and behind that some very cold windy conditions. so as this front comes in, temperatures will start to fall. the snow showers associated with that will be blowing around a little bit. visibility may be reduced. the first part of the storm connects to the snow in cape hatteras. that will move up the coast and as it approaches canada it will become a big nor'easter. a wintery mix this afternoon. northwest wind 15 to 25. gusts pick up this afternoon. 46 to -- 36 to 41 the high. northwest winds gusting to 30 on the bay. small craft advisories are up. insta-weather futurecast shows the first batch passing around the area. that's when we'll get the snow showers as temperatures fall and winds pick up. a dry day, except for maybe a flurry or two. lake effect snows into the mountains on sunday.

stevens is already serving a life sentence for murdering a man in salisbury, back in 1997. >>> a man is murdered in broad daylight, on a quiet street in windsor hills. monique griego is in the newsroom with the latest on this investigation. monique? >> reporter: well, kai, it was neighbors who discovered the man's body, lying on the street, moments after the witnesses reported hearing gunfire. it all happened just before 11:00 this morning, in the 2900 block of haber ford road. the victim wasn't identified but detectives say he was shot in the head. sources tell the baltimore sun he was 62 years old. neighbors don't believe the victim is from that area. and they also didn't recognize the car found at the scene. >> this is the first homicide that i know of in this neighborhood. and i've been living here for 40-something years. so i can truly say this was a bit of a shock. >> reporter: and police haven't released a motive in this case or any suspects. kai? >> monique, thank you. anyone with information about this case is asked to call police. >>> relief could be on the way for millions
