. >> i'm sam brock. we're going to start with breaking news. all lanes of a major freeway are closed. let's get right to mike inouye. >> not a good morning for the nimitz freeway. today it is oakland. just before you get to the coliseum. all the lanes are forced off at the 66th avenue off-ramp as you reach the coliseum. this jam-up starts at hegenberger just off the top of the screen. northbound approaching the coliseum. hegenberger is where you can get off and take coliseum way and get back on at 66 or get off and back off at the 66th on-ramp but you have to get through the backup. the rest of the traffic is clear. it is a deadly crash. one car is involved. so that will be an issue until about 6:00 when i i believe that should finish up with what they need to take care of as far as the investigation. we'll track this of course through the course of the morning and i'm going to hand it off to kari and we'll get a look at the forecast. >> we are starting out this morning, mike, with temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s. it's now 54 degrees

. >> i'm sam brock. we begin this morning with breaking news on 880. mike inouye is tracking the latest. >> the we froo ways themselves is moving well except for over here in hayward as you're traveling -- sam leandro out of hayward, davis street. overnight a big rig rammed into the side of the roadway and for a period of time they had all lanes of the nimitz freeway of the northbound close and reopened all but your far right lane. the rig ran into the side at the davis street off-ramp. the off-ramp and slow lane are closed because that big rig is fully on fire. it's engulfed in flames. this is a distraction causing a slowdown. here's marina boulevard. one of your options. the other is 98 just shy of the coliseum. and that's where you also exit and come back through city streets if you need to. otherwise, know that you're going to have this big distraction. it is a spectacle. we have a crew headed out to the scene. we'll bring you the live pictures as well as the update, chp trying to get the handle on the situation. just the slow lane blocked by this b

i'm lara garcia-cannon >> and i'm sam brock.s one of those days that you're not seeing much in san francisco to start but that will change. >> that will change. we'll get the sunshine and it will stay nice and cool. the clouds and the fog near the coastline will also give us a nice sea breeze and keep the inland valleys cooler than average. and right now it's 51 degrees in the north bay and 56 degrees in san francisco, up to 65 degrees there today with some 80s for the south bay, north bay and the tri-valley. the peninsula up to 76 degrees. it will warm up as we go throughout the weekend. i'll talk more about that coming up. but mike is following the b.a.r.t. delay. >> good news as far as that goes. b.a.r.t. no longer reporting any delay out of the montgomery street station. the latest information we have from the system is there was smoke coming out of one of the cars related to the olympic difficulties. that was on b.a.r.t. level platt platform. so go toward that station and now your b.a.r.t. station should be okay. the driver

i'm sam brock. >> i'm laura garcia-cannon. you made to it friday, now you have to make it through friday just to get to the weekend. >> we're halfway there, right? hot weather this weekend. we're still in the thick of this and it looks like it does hang around for a few days. all of our microclimates we have spread anywhere from 50 degrees in the north bay to 62 degrees in the tri-valley. coastal fog in the peninsula and 57 with a high headed up to 85. still in the 90s for the north and the south bay. triple digits for the tri-valley. poor air quality there, too. and nice pleasant 71 degrees in san francisco. we'll talk about the weekend ahead but we still have now some b.a.r.t. delays? >> that's right. we go from minor overnight delays which we often have when pick up around the bay area to 20-minute delay. system wide reported. anything more than 20 minutes and b.a.r.t. will call it a major delay. we'll start to see if they will lessen or grow. roadway is moving well around the bay except for here in palo alto where we have
