take a look at some of the flooding in san antonio. more than nine inches of torrential rain hit texas that's left several roads under water. people say they have had to rescue people who were stranded in their cars on those flooded roads. >>> the governor of washington state says it will cost $15 million to fix that bridge on interstate 5 that collapsed thursday. new video showing the moment when the bridge fell into the river. remarkably no one died. an 18-wheeler may have caused the collapse after it hit one of the overhead beams. ntsb inspectors plan to spend ten days investigating that accident. more than 600,000 bridges are in some sort of danger. >>> in news about your money, the dow scratches out a small gain to end the week on a positive note. there's some good economic news as well. >> the economy took a big step forward this week. new jobless claims fell to a five-year low showing layoffs are slowing. and new home sales are on track to post the best selling rate since 2008. it's still far below the peak in 2005, but this is

in that san antonio area. extending out through interstates 35, 10 and 37, how much rainfall did we see? up to ten inches recorded by our satellite imagery. it determines how much rainfall has collected. eight to 10 inches for most of those areas. that wasn't even some of the isolated reports. they're saying they could have seen up to a foot. we have our tornado watch in effect in the northern tier states. in texas, joe, they're saying there are no tornado warnings out now. but you can imagine that those floodwaters have not receded totally just yet. so even as night comes upon us, it's still going to be extraordinarily dangerous for people to take their vehicles out. they're suggesting you just stay home. unless it's an absolute emergency. they had eight kodiaks out, those little inflatable vehicles to rescue people and they were very successful today. that's the good news. >> karen, you reported earlier on a tornado on the ground near victoria, texas. any updates on that? >> we had a report that it was a bri

i talked with san antonio's mayor last hour.says pockets of the city were under water yesterday causing major property damage. at least two people were killed in the flooding when they were swept away by the rushing waters. one of them was actually washed out of the arms of a rescue worker who was trying to get her out of her car. we know that more than 200 people were successfully rescued from submerged cars and flooded homes there. mayor julian castro said at least san antonio got a break last night with very little rain. and karen maginnis has been following this very closely. good morning to you, karen. how are things looking there now? >> we are expecting a round of rainfall. but let me qualify this. and that is we're watching this cluster of showers and a few thunderstorms making its way along interstate 10. it is been holding together fairly well. maybe just weakening just a little bit on this eastern edge, but we expect within the next hour it is going to trek its way across interstate 10 across san antonio. you may see
