san jose. it is actually another spare the air day. >> yes, we're dipping back into those circumstances, christina. you're saying looking at the visibility right now, good morning >> good morning to you. yes, we are definitely seeing some pretty hazy skies and definitely that fog is thickening up as we speak this morning. you do want to travel cautiously. what's happening for parts of the bay area that tulle fog is creeping through the delta this morning, so wherever you're headed you want to travel cautiously if you're headed off to the east this morning. i know a lot of people are going to knock off early and maybe take a three-day weekend, if that's you, just getting to you sacramento or down to the central valley could be problematic. take it easy out there. we have about a quarter of a mile visibility in santa rosa. we take you down south and show what you we're working with in the south bay, six miles in mountain view, ten miles in san jose and livermore, parts where you can only see for maybe a couple hundred feet, if even that. you have zero visibility. take it easy out there this morning.

for more we check in with meteorologist rob mayeda in for christina. >> we're seeing the thick fog not so much around sanse where it's 44 degrees for you. traveling across the san mateo bridge, the bay bridge, the carquinez straits you have the fog. adviseibilities at times less than a mile. livermore there less than a half mile, too, but the visibility in the south bay not too bad. it took some time yesterday for the low clouds to break up and looks like we could see something similar as we go through the day. for the morning the areas of low clouds probably at their thickest around the north bay and east bay valleys and gradually clearing skies as we get through the afternoon there, mostly clear as we head towards the afternoon and evening. if you're going to be around the coast and bay, watch out for another astronomical high tide, this is coming up just before 10:00 this morning. the king tides about seven foot high tide at ocean beach just before 10:00 this morning, look out for some unusual rip currents and again the potential theror some roadway flooding along the coast and inner bay. temperatures

san jose. you can see the haze that's sticking around. meteorologist christina loren says because of that haze it is the sixth straight spare the air day. so the good news is it's warm but that's part of the problem, right? >> yeah, if we could get rid of this poor air quality we would have a perfect forecast, but unfortunately, it is still hazy. i want to show you where you can get some relief if you're looking for big deep breaths of air, you can feel comfortable about it. head up to the high elevations. you can see we're seeing a really pretty blue sky. it's down below where all that particulate party gets trapped. let me show you what it looks like on the east shore where you can see the visibility dropping off as that haze gets even worse for today. we're going to see the worst air pollution for today, you can clearly see that in san jose as we head throughout the day, another spare the air alert in place and we're likely going to be sparing the air the next couple days with not a lot of improvements until friday. but there is improvement on the way. you ca

san jose. firefighters still at the scene. nanette miranda also there gathering new information this morning. christinaeeping tabs on the humidity and any wind in the area, but firefighters appear to have the upper hand on this one, and of course anthony keeping abreast of what is going on with the traffic changes in that area. julian street is closed by 87. >>> now to a story that's developing this morning. tense moments, 220 miles above the earth as the u.s. side of the international space station evacuated about five hours ago. we learned that mission control reported an increase in cabin pressure, something which could be indicative of an ammonia leak. is all six crew members put on emergency oxygen masks and then moved over to the russian section of the space station. everybody we're told is okay. now, while russia space agency initially called this an ammonia leak, nasa says there's actually no hard data showing that to be the case. nasa stressing right now this could have all been due to a false alarm. crews in houston and moscow are now working to try and fix that problem. >>> it is 5:33. peopl

looking live in san francisco, great place to get away this morning, meteorologist christina loren. we saw something in the sky this morning, rather unfamiliar with it. it felt a little wet and it was falling down. what is it? >> what's going on here? yeah, you know the return of showers, although very light. i think our biggest total so far is about 0.02 of an inch in santa clara. those are started to work their way north. and the sky is getting a little darker over belvedere. the north bay is overseeing the activity now. a live look at san bruno mountain where the hills are still luscious and green. the next couple of days looking towards a much better trend. our fire danger has decreased rapidly, just with the inclusion of these showers. but you can see, very light nothing heavy. and a lot of this is actually virga, which is precipitation that evaporates before hitting the surface. but i want to give you a preview, more on the way. we'll tell you just how much longer this will last and how much snowfall we're expecting. i think those numbers are going to be more impressive. that'
