it happened at what's been dubbed as a "build the wall" event just south of san diego.e rally participant got into a fight with counter-protesters, but deputies later broke it up. about 150-people from around the country came to support the border wall. they faced about 15-counter protesters, who staged a march against the project. the rally was held in an area where officials are testing prototypes for trump's proposed wall. (j.r.) it was a big saturday night in college football. the heisman trophy was awarded this evening. stanford running back bryce love finished second in the voting. the heisman trophy was given to oklahoma senior quarterback baker mayfield. mayfield is the only heisman winner ever to start his college career as a walk on. mayfield threw for more than 43-hundred yards, 41 touchdown passes and just 5 interceptions this season. during his speech tonight he thanked his family. from ventura county all the way to san diego county. the possibility of gusts reaching 50 miles per hour is not going tomorrow into sunday with the red flag warning all the way until 8:00 sunday night. we continue with the possibility of smoke filtering into our area. and it has to do with the high pressure right over the state. if you take a close look at the upper level winds, you can see how it pushes it out to the pacific and wraps it into the bay area. we again have the spare the air day in place for today, tomorrow, maybe into sunday. we'll continue to track it for you. just something to be aware of. meanwhile on the other side of the country, you may have heard them talking about rain or snow in area that is hardly ever get snow at all. and that's continuing there for the weekend as that storm continues to push out towards the mid-atlantic. getting in closer to home. we have that flow that will bring us the spare the air. the air quality has been moderate and into the afternoon we're looking at slightly unhealthy for some. doesn'
