it gives me tremendous pride as a san franciscan first and foremost, as mayor of this city, that our san francisco girls chorus and our san francisco boys chorus have been picked for this historic event. it is an extraordinary privilege that we collectively are being afforded. but all of these young men and women in the back are being afforded. and to all of families and friends, i know that this is something you will never forget. as a san franciscan to see san francisco speaker nancy pelosi up there with senior senator diane feinstein front and center in this, and our boys and girls chorus -- [applause] i know not everyone of the same political persuasion. but yes, the president that we have chosen, which we chose wisely from my humble perspective. and drop-off san franciscan. -- san franciscans. this is to drop of people to their destinations in the city or do the reverse. this is engendering cooperation of the regional bus providers to allow some lines on the golden gate and the ac line to do double duty. to pick up and drop off san franciscans. because of weak look at the map, one of the lines, the 93 comes in from the golden gate toll plaza and goes to -- close to christie field and goes down van ness ave. this is doing the heavy lifting and there are buses that are already there. they have proposed a service plan and they offered to make a rate comparable to the mini rate. with the fast passage does not matter. you can ride the muni. this goes along the waterfront all the way on the northern waterfront to the battery and comes down the east side of telegraph hill. this is a line that commuters wanting to go to the east side of telegraph hill to bart can ride. it is an opportunity to -- for something we have been looking at doing. a few more notes. the ferries are offering

from chuck schwab, warren is a close friend of mine and a lifelong san franciscan who has displayed a rare dedication to our local community for many decades. his passion for improving our local parks, schools, art, and vitality of san francisco is unmatched. it is no exaggeration to say that his leadership on so many local issues and causes has to be made san francisco a better city for all of us. and future generations. in his letter, i find it particularly touching. it is from josie mooney. i met warren when i was the new president at the san francisco labor council and the new president of the committee on jobs. i called and asked if i could visit with them, in a courtesy call to introduce myself and make an odd request, perhaps rather than spending millions of rather than spending millions of dollars to defeat a living wage

job creation and putting san franciscans to work has been and will be my top priority. included in my 17-point road map for good jobs and opportunity, i pledge to work everyday to make sure we're creating good jobs for san francisco's families. there is a lot we are doing in addition to the reforms i just mentioned. we require a jobs impact review for on the legislation. i firmly believe it is the responsibility of city hall to help small businesses grow and thrive and not create hurdles to job growth. if approved in june, this charter amendments will require a review hearing -- this charter amendment would require a review hearing to see if it will negatively impact jobs. we can add transparency and accountability. today, i am also introducing a $325 million budget supplemental in bond sales to rebuild and renovates streets, parks, playgrounds, an important safety facilities. these bond funds will lead to the creation of jobs and improve the infrastructure at the same time. from the bonds to the earthquake safety and emergency response bonds to the recently passed st.

san franciscans during campaigns read everything they are sent in the mail. love to meet candidates. a gauge with them in conversations. i also learned how important it is to build bridges between communities, particularly communities of diversity we have. i was just incredibly honored to have been elected in november 2008. my district really encompasses the ethnic and economic diversity that exists throughout the city. as a result, i think my district is really emblematic of the entire city. you can find every political perspective that you could possibly want in district 3. so oftentimes, the interest of my district and the city really are quite a line, so i do not have to think about this difference is probably quite as often as some of my colleagues may have to. i in particular want to thank the mayor for his decision to protect our nutrition programs. this is something that i think we all believe is incredibly important at a time when we have seen massive federal and state cuts, for us to hold the line locally and stand up in the city of st. francis for
